Light Light is Sweet

Light
Light is Sweet

When the sun is shining in your life enjoy the sweetness
Don’t let the clouds get you down
In all you do honor the Lord and remember this
“The rain falls on the just and the unjust.
The difference is the one who has the umbrella” WMS
While you enjoy the sweetness of the sun
Keep in mind some day you and I will be in a climate
Where the Son of Righteousness will shine 100% of the time
If we honor God with the life we have in this worldly climate
Living that kind of life is not meaningless

Light is Sweet

Light is sweet, and it
pleases the eyes to see the sun.
Ecclesiastes 11:7

Matthew 5:45 says…

 Our Father in heaven
“causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good,
and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.”

In Toledo, we are below average in sunny days.

The average sunny days in the US
are 205, but we in Toledo get 180.

That means we don't see the sun185 days,
over 50% of our days in Toledo.

Of the 180 days, 107 of them are partly sunny,
leaving us with only 73 sunny days a year.

That means we get 292 days a year
where there is no sun or partial sun.

I miss the sweetness of light.

I love to see the sun, so much so, in the
winter months I take my wife to Florida.

Where in Tampa they get 246 sunny days a year
and in the winter their days are longer.

I think Solomon lived in a climate like Toledo.

However many years a man may live, let him enjoy them all.
But let him remember the days of darkness, for they will be many.
Everything to come is meaningless.
Ecclesiastes 11:8

Solomon searched for the meaning in life.

You and I do the same, yet not
with the same bank account.

When the sun is shining and your
enjoying the day, life is sweet.

But every day is not like
that sweetness of light…

 It is not always shining.

There are days of darkness.

Days we planned a sunny vacation on
the beach and it rained all week long.

Just like the weather does not always cooperate,
so also are the days of sadness.

It is all a part of the climate of this world.

Solomon advises us to enjoy our youth…

Enjoy the sunny days.

Because as we get older more clouds come in.

But…

 However many years a man
may live, let him enjoy them all.

In our efforts to enjoy life, Solomon
reminds us to remember our Creator.

Remember…

God will bring you to judgment.”

Solomon concludes his search for meaning in
life with these words at the end of Ecclesiastes…

Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole [duty] of man.
For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
Ecclesiastes 12:13,14

So when the sun is shining in your life…

 Enjoy the sweetness.

Don’t let the clouds get you down.

In all you do honor the
Lord and remember this…

“The rain falls on the just and the unjust.
The difference is the one who has the umbrella”

Scripture Reading

Ecclesiastes11:7-10 NIV
7 Light is sweet,
and it pleases the eyes to see the sun.
8 However many years a man may live,
let him enjoy them all.
But let him remember the days of darkness,
for they will be many.
Everything to come is meaningless.

9 Be happy, young man, while you are young,
and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth.
Follow the ways of your heart
and whatever your eyes see,
but know that for all these things
God will bring you to judgment.
10 So then, banish anxiety from your heart
and cast off the troubles of your body,
for youth and vigor are meaningless.

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 NIV
13 Now all has been heard;
here is the conclusion of the matter:
Fear God and keep his commandments,
for this is the whole [duty] of man.
14 For God will bring every deed into judgment,
including every hidden thing,
whether it is good or evil.
