Light
The Dawn
Dawn is an amazing
time
It is when the
darkness of night gives way to a powerful force
As the tops of the
trees begin to appear
Their shapes begin to
take on color
Moment by moment
details appear that could not be seen in the darkness of night
Color begins to
replace the blackness
In the sky are blues,
reds and whites
The things above the
ground turn from one shape to individual forms
Even in darkness light dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and compassionate and righteous man. Psalms 112:4
Dawn gives promise of
hope for the righteous
That the Lord will
shine on you
He will cause the
dawn to give you Knowledge of what was in the dark
Understanding as
shapes and color appear
And Wisdom to walk in
the day
The Dawn
I am so grateful that I am a
person who wakes before dawn.
Dawn is an amazing time.
It is when the darkness of night
gives way to a powerful force.
I love to look out my window when it is
too dark to make out what I am looking at.
Forms that as the light gets brighter reveal the
detail that could not have been seen just moments ago.
Long before the sun shows its
brightness and glory the earth is changing.
Amazingly, everything the
dawn reveals was there all along.
Psalms 112:4 says…
Even in darkness light
dawns for the upright,
for the gracious and
compassionate and righteous man.
There is a dawn for the gracious,
compassionate and righteous person.
The righteous do not fear…
He will have no fear
of bad news;
his heart is
steadfast, trusting in the LORD.
His heart is secure, he will have no fear;
in the end he will
look in triumph on his foes.
Psalm 112:7,8
As dawn comes, it reveals
what was hid in darkness.
What is revealed is known for what it is.
It becomes more easily understood.
And the wisdom becomes as bright as the sun.
Some nights are longer than others.
But the righteous know there will be a dawn.
Hope is never lost for the righteous because they
know that no matter how long the night may be…
The dawn will come –
a promise of another
day.
As the dawn breaks, the darkness
and the sun begin to shine…
All that is left of
the darkness are shadows.
Shadows shift and move to
hide from the light of the sun.
The righteous trust in the Lord.
Their trust is in a confidence that their
acts of righteousness will be rewarded…
Surely he will never be
shaken;
a righteous man will be
remembered forever.
Psalm 112:6
Why does he trust?
Because the righteous
person
has seen the dawn every day.
The righteous know the cycle and
never worry about the darkness of
night because it is given a season.
For the righteous, the darkness
may hide the glory of the day.
But the righteous know that even
if they cannot see the glory…
They know it is there and
will appear as the dawn arises.
“Weeping may endure for a night,
But joy comes in the
morning.”
Psalm 30:5

If you are in a season of night…
Set your alarm to
arise before dawn.
Grab your breakfast drink.
Sit by a window and watch
the dawn of a new day.
See the power of the light and
know the Lord will shine on you.
He will cause the dawn to give you
Knowledge of what was in the dark…
Understanding as shapes and color appear.
And Wisdom to walk in the day.

5 Good will come to him who is generous and lends freely,
who conducts his affairs with justice.
6 Surely he will never be shaken;

his heart is steadfast, trusting in the LORD.

in the end he will look in triumph on his foes.
