Fruit of Repentance What Does Fruit From the Tree of Knowledge Look Like?

Fruit of Repentance

What Does Fruit From the Tree of Knowledge Look Like?

Description: Relationship With God | Philadelphia Church of God

Satan deceived Eve and Adam into exchanging the truth for a lie

Rejecting the Tree of Life, the soul and spirit of God

For the Tree of Good and Evil, the soul and spirit of the Devil

Until a person repents of their knowledge of good and evil

As the way of life, their fruit will bring suffering and death

But if a person repents, changes their mind and

Determines to eat the Fruit of Truth, they will find life

Life, because they will discover the soul and spirit of God, their Creator

What Does Fruit From the Tree of Knowledge Look Like?

The foundation, the core of the Tree of Life is Truth.

Truth blooms and each flower produces wonderful fruit.

This Tree is the very image of the soul and spirit of God.

Romans 1 tells us these invisible qualities of God,

His divine nature are clear to see.

Truth and its Fruit are so clear to

understand that man is without excuse.

These Fruits and qualities of God are visible in every

part of the world and at any time in history.

You don’t need to know God to

know there is a true right and a wrong…

 It is common sense.

The problem is people have claimed to be wise.

They have exchanged the Truth of God for a lie…

 Romans 1:25

Where we call good bad and bad good.

People do not see it is worthwhile to retain the Knowledge

of God and His invisible qualities birthed out of Truth.

The Tree of the Knowledge of Good

and Evil is fathered by the Devil.

As God has fathered the Tree of Life…

Satan has fathered the Tree of Knowledge.

Jesus points out the difference

in the two fathers in John 8:42-47…

Jesus makes a clear description and separation between the two fathers

He was a murderer from the beginning,

not holding to the truth,

for there is no truth in him.

When he lies, he speaks his native language,

for he is a liar and the father of lies.

Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!

Can any of you prove me guilty of sin?

If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me?

He who belongs to God hears what God says.

The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."

John 8:44-47

The native language of the devil is lies,

a deceptive flower giving birth to evil fruit.

Jesus challenges the followers of lies to prove the Truth

(His words and actions) is guilty of wrong.

Romans 1 concludes with the fruit

of exchanging the truth for a lie.

When we don’t think it is worthwhile to

retain the Knowledge of God and give our minds

over to our own interpretation of good and evil.

The fruit is all kinds of wickedness, evil, greed, depravity.

You have seen it in your neighborhood,

maybe in your own home, or life…

Murder, envy, deceit, malice, gossip,

slander, God-haters, insolent, arrogant, boastful,

shameless, faithless, heartless, ruthless;

those who do not do these things

approve of their practice.

Common sense tells you these fruits

don’t taste good, yet we still do them.

Satan deceived Eve and Adam

into exchanging the truth for a lie.

Rejecting the Tree of Life,

the soul and spirit of God

for the Tree of Good and Evil,

the soul and spirit of the Devil.

Until a person repents of their knowledge

of good and evil as the way of life…

Their fruit will bring suffering and death.

But if a person repents, changes their mind and

determines to eat the Fruit of Truth…

 They will find life.

Life, because they will discover

the soul and spirit of God, their Creator.

Scripture Reading

John 8:43-47 NIV

44 You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father's desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45 Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me! 46 Can any of you prove me guilty of sin? If I am telling the truth, why don't you believe me? 47 He who belongs to God hears what God says. The reason you do not hear is that you do not belong to God."

Ephesians 4:20-24 NIV

20 You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. 21 Surely you heard of him and were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. 22 You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Knowledge Knowledge before Good and Evil

Knowledge

Knowledge before Good and Evil

Now Adam and Eve had knowledge before they ate of the Tree of Knowledge

Their source of knowledge was God

The things they learned and the joy of discovery had to be amazing

Knowledge is a familiarity, awareness or understanding of someone or something, such as facts, information, descriptions, or skills, which is acquired through experience or education by perceiving, discovering, or learning.

When you came into this world
how much knowledge did you have?

All of us come into this world
with an empty knowledge tank.

If you are reading this you have gained
some knowledge since you were born.

Certain things in life you have become familiar with
that have become facts, information and descriptions.

Your world is as large as your knowledge.

Our experiences and education are the process to learning.

When I was a boy in school,
I lived in fear of not knowing.

I hated tests because they would
show what I did not know.

I was afraid of being a dummy.

I though everyone else was smarter than I was.

I didn’t know knowledge was a process for all of us.

Later in life I realized being humble and asking questions
was far more profitable than pretending I was a know-it-all.

When I discovered how much freedom knowledge
gave me I realized I loved to learn.

Whether my knowledge came from an answer to a simple
question or the school of hard knocks I have learned to love it.

Because knowledge is wonderful.

Knowledge was a key issue in the very beginning
when God created the heavens and the earth.

Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed.  And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground —
trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food.
In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
Genesis 2:8-9 NIV

In the very center of the Garden was the Tree of Knowledge.

The tree is described with 2 characteristics…

Good and Evil

Everything God created in the garden was
good including the Tree of Knowledge.

There were all kinds of trees God created that
were pleasing to the eye and good for food.

But only one tree God commanded not to eat its fruits.

Now Adam and Eve had knowledge before
they ate of the Tree of Knowledge.

Their source of knowledge was God.

The things they learned and the joy
of discovery had to be amazing.

There was purity in everything around them so
everything they looked at was with pure thoughts.

When Adam and Eve took of the forbidden
fruit everything changed forever.

The source of knowledge from that tree made them afraid.

It brought on guilt and shame.

Their desire to become like God to receive council
from another source than God changed everything.

Ultimately the source of knowledge from
the Tree of Knowledge brings death.

So there is a way that seems right to a
man but in the end it brings destruction.

Because knowledge is both good and evil God gives
us a lot of instruction about knowledge in His Word.

Because knowledge is so important we should
give attention to what God has to say about it.

Scripture Reading NIV

Genesis 2:8-9
8 Now the Lord God had planted a garden in the east, in Eden; and there he put the man he had formed. 9 And the Lord God made all kinds of trees grow out of the ground — trees that were pleasing to the eye and good for food. In the middle of the garden were the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

Proverbs 14:12
2 There is a way that seems right to a man,
but in the end it leads to death.
