Light Eyes Full of Light

Light
Eyes Full of Light

Every time we meet someone they have the opportunity to see inside us
The rooms inside us can be full of light or darkness
Full of “wide-eyed in wonder and belief”
Or, discouragement and fear
Jesus tells us our eyes are the light of the body
When we open our eyes to the Word of God
Light comes in to the rooms of our body
The Word of God has the power to light up every part of our body
Jesus puts it this way
So that those who come in may see the light.”
The Light of God has hope for every situation you face within you
So let the SON shine in
Allow others to see you keep a clean and ordered life
And when hard times come you have hope
Because you opened your eyes to the Light of Christ
So open wide your eyes like a child at Christmas for every day is a Gift from God

Eyes Full of Light

I love the new LED lights.

 I have changed almost every
bulb to LED in our house.

In our house there is not a
room that does not have a light.

Why do we have a light in every room?

So we can see what is in the room.

There are times I go into a room and
don’t want to turn on the light…

 Because the light reminds me
I need to clean up a mess.

Jesus in Luke 13:33 talks
about a room with a light.

He says you don’t hide the light or
cover it, but you let it shine “so that
those who come in may see the light.”

This room Jesus is talking
about is what is inside of us…

The rooms of our lives.

Jesus is saying when people enter into the
rooms of our lives, the Light should be on.

There should not be any dark places in us.

There should not be anything we want to hide.

It is like the old saying…

“My life is an open book.”

Jesus goes on to say in verse 34…

Your eyes are the lamp of your body.

If your house is like mine you have
shades or curtains on your windows.

Venetian blinds work great for
controlling the light in a room.

Jesus says we need to keep
the blinds of our eyes open.

It is through our eyes the
rooms within us get Light.

The Message Bible says it this way…

Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body.
If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light.
If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar.
Keep your eyes open, your lamp burning, so you don't get musty and murky.
Keep your life as well-lighted as your best-lighted room." MSG
“Wide-eyed in wonder and belief”

That is so cool…

 The Light that comes into
our eyes is the Word of God.

When we open our eyes to what God says we
become “wide-eyed in wonder and belief”.

There should be excitement that fills
your whole body, energizing you.

Don’t squint so that the awesome Word of
God can’t get into the rooms of your life.

The Light of God’s Word brings hope,
courage and confidence to your inter rooms.

The way that light gets in
is through the eyes.

Where are the eyes looking...

At the light or somewhere else?

Are we letting in all the Light of God’s Word?

Or, are the blinds partially closed
to let in only some of the Light?

Jesus is giving us some good advice…

To open our eyes to the Light of God’s Word
so your whole body will be full of Light.

Remember Jesus started this
discourse about light with…

So that those who come in may see the light.”

We don’t want others to see us
discouraged and without hope.

The Light of God has hope for
every situation you face within you.

So let the SON shine in.

Allow others to see you keep
a clean and ordered life.

And when hard times come you have hope be-
cause you opened your eyes to the Light of Christ.

So open wide your eyes like a child at
Christmas for every day is a Gift from God.

Scripture Reading

Luke 11:33-36 NIV
33 "No one lights a lamp and puts it in a place where it will be hidden, or under a bowl. Instead he puts it on its stand, so that those who come in may see the light. 34 Your eye is the lamp of your body. When your eyes are good, your whole body also is full of light. But when they are bad, your body also is full of darkness. 35 See to it, then, that the light within you is not darkness. 36 Therefore, if your whole body is full of light, and no part of it dark, it will be completely lighted, as when the light of a lamp shines on you."

Luke 11:33-36 NIV
33 "No one lights a lamp, then hides it in a drawer. It's put on a lamp stand so those entering the room have light to see where they're going. 34 Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body. If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. 35 Keep your eyes open, your lamp burning, so you don't get musty and murky. 36 Keep your life as well-lighted as your best-lighted room."
