Light Great Light For the Warrior

Light
Great Light For the Warrior

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.  Isaiah 9:2
We who walk in the darkness of our world, the darkness of America
There is a great Light
When walking in the Valley of the Shadow of Death there is a Light that dawns
There is deliverance from the rod of the oppressor
Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. Isaiah 9:5
For the destine of our bloody battle clothes God says
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this. Isaiah 9:6,7

Great Light For the Warrior

This morning as I read Isaiah 9,
I could not help but think
of a post on Facebook.

A dear friend of mine wrote…

“Having visited the VA Hospital, my eyes were opened to how many of our veterans are suffering due to service-related injuries. It always saddens my heart to see the tremendous cost and sacrifice that our veterans have made to protect our freedoms here in the United States of America. May God Bless all of our veterans who have served us in the defense of this great nation.” Ron Boyd

Isaiah 9:5 says…

Every warrior's boot used in battle and
every garment rolled in blood will be destined
for burning, will be fuel for the fire.

The reality of battle…

The wounds, the pain, the suffering, the death.

The battle for freedom and the sacrifice it takes.

The battle fields are dark, full of valleys
where the Shadow of Death hides the light.

My friend, Ron, has served this
country and the Kingdom of God.

He has seen the darkness, the distress, and
gloom as a solider for both nations,
the United States and the nation of God.

Sadly, as soldiers come home from fighting
battles abroad they find a battle within.

There is a darkness, a battle
going on every day of our lives.

Suffering not from bullets and booms
but from sin and oppression.

Jesus looks over Jerusalem in Luke 19:41-44…

As he approached Jerusalem and saw the city, he wept over it and said,
"If you, even you, had only known on this day what would bring you peace —
but now it is hidden from your eyes.
The days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment against you
and encircle you and hem you in on every side.
They will dash you to the ground,
you and the children within your walls.
They will not leave one stone on another,
because you did not recognize the time of God's coming to you."

Like Jerusalem, American has not
recognized the time of God’s coming.

If you know the peace and joy of the Lord
you, too, have wept over America.

You have fought for justice and peace not
with guns, but Prayer and Words of Truth.

Your actions are more of a solider,
than a civilian.

When others are living as they please,
you are caring for their souls.

If you are one who sees the darkness and the
Shadow of Death over your friends, families
and neighbors than take another look at Isaiah 9…

Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan —
 verse 1
“In the future He will honor Galilee of the Gentiles”

God cares about the Jews
and the Gentiles and offers hope…

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;
on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned.
Verses 2

We who walk in the darkness of our world,
the darkness of America…

There is a great Light.

When walking in the Valley of the Shadow
of Death there is a Light that dawns.

There is deliverance from the rod of the oppressor.

For the destine of our bloody battle clothes God says…

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
Isaiah 9:6,7

There is Light.

The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
 Isaiah 9:7

Therefore…

Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Share with God's people who are in need.
Practice hospitality.
Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.
Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn.
Live in harmony with one another.
Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position.
Do not be conceited.
Do not repay anyone evil for evil.
Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody.
If it is possible, as far as it depends on you,
live at peace with everyone.
 Romans 12:10-18

There is great light for the
Warriors of Righteousness.

Continue to fight the good fight of faith.

Remember the wounded soldiers.

Scripture Reading

Isaiah 9:1-7 NIV

9:1 Nevertheless, there will be no more gloom for those who were in distress. In the past he humbled the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the future he will honor Galilee of the Gentiles, by the way of the sea, along the Jordan —
2 The people walking in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of the shadow of death a light has dawned. 3 You have enlarged the nation and increased their joy; they rejoice before you as people rejoice at the harvest, as men rejoice when dividing the plunder. 4 For as in the day of Midian's defeat, you have shattered the yoke that burdens them, the bar across their shoulders, the rod of their oppressor. 5 Every warrior's boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. 6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. 7 Of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David's throne and over his kingdom, establishing and upholding it with justice and righteousness from that time on and forever. The zeal of the LORD Almighty will accomplish this.
