The Lord is Always Before Me

What On Earth Is God Doing?

By William M. Self, Sr.

 David said

"'I saw the Lord always before me.

Because he is at my right hand,

I will not be shaken.”

How about you?

The Lord is Always Before Me

Peter on the Day of Pentecost quotes
the Prayer of David found in Psalms 16.

"'I saw the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.”

This past weekend, I went Salmon fishing with some friends.

The drive up north was so beautiful
and the trees were starting to change.

My very good friend, Jeff, and
 I shared a wonderful time.

I had not been away from
Sandy two hours and I missed her.

Everything I saw, I wanted to share with her.

When we went to the rivers, I could not stop
thinking I wish my son, Marty, was here with me.

When you are in love, you want
to be with the ones you love.

David said… “I saw the Lord always before me.”

Image your life if you “always”
saw the Lord before you.

Imagine His influence in your life.

 Image Him going before you, leading the trail.

Image Jesus being your GPS
“God Positioning System”.

As we hiked the breath taking rivers to fish
for salmon, my friend, Matt, led the way.

There were several times we
 came to slippery steep banks.

Matt each time stopped, turned around
and grabbed my hand to help pull me up.

David was not shaken in life, no obstacle
or challenge stressed him out…

Because He saw the Lord at His right hand.

Confidence is such an important part of success.

Without experience, it is hard to have confidence.

Having the Lord by your side gives us the
confidence we need to conquer all things.

David saw the Lord was always with him
even after his body totally failed him.

“Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
because you will not abandon me to the grave.”

Now don’t you “ALWAYS” have
something to rejoice about?

Scripture Reading

Psalm 146:10 NIV
The Lord reigns forever,
your God, O Zion, for all generations.

Psalm 16 NIV
Keep me safe, O God,
for in you I take refuge.
2 I said to the Lord, "You are my Lord;
apart from you I have no good thing."
3 As for the saints who are in the land,
they are the glorious ones in whom is all my delight.
4 The sorrows of those will increase
who run after other gods.
I will not pour out their libations of blood
or take up their names on my lips.

5 Lord, you have assigned me my portion and my cup;
you have made my lot secure.
6 The boundary lines have fallen for me in pleasant places;
surely I have a delightful inheritance.

7 I will praise the Lord, who counsels me;
even at night my heart instructs me.
8 I have set the Lord always before me.
Because he is at my right hand,
I will not be shaken.

9 Therefore my heart is glad and my tongue rejoices;
my body also will rest secure,
10 because you will not abandon me to the grave,
nor will you let your Holy One see decay.
11 You have made known to me the path of life;
you will fill me with joy in your presence,
with eternal pleasures at your right hand.

A prayer of David.
