Knowledge…
facts, information, and skills acquired by a person
through experience
or
education; the theoretical or practical understanding of a subject
The Philosophy of Knowledge is…

opposed to opinion
Knowledge has a
scale.
On the one end is “Opinion”
and
the other end is “Justified
Belief”

Justified Belief
Everybody has an
opinion about God.
You and I have opinions
about God.
An Opinion is…
a view or judgment formed about something,
not necessarily
based on fact or knowledge
Most opinions are
formed by how we are affected.
“There is a way that
seems right to a man,
but in the end it
leads to death.” Proverbs 16:25
Too often opinions
are formed
by what makes us feel good.
The person who has a fear of the Lord will
want to move from opinion
to knowledge.
“The fear of the Lord
is the beginning of knowledge.”
Moving beyond what makes me feel good to the truth,
comes through experience and education.
I still have a lot of experiences
that leave me asking “Why?”
On the other hand, I have many scriptures I have
not experienced that also leave me asking “Why?”
Both realities, “experience
and education”
have to come together for me to have the truth.
When these two come together
I have a “justified
belief”.
This is the goal of knowledge.
We all have opinions,
but we will
only be justified by the truth.
Amazingly, God will allow us to
live by our opinions of the truth.
It is our choice.
Look around you at the generation we live in.
It doesn’t take much discernment to see opinions
of God are leading
many down a painful path.
While the knowledge of
God, leads to life.

Acts 2:37-44

What shall
we do?"
38 Peter
replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus
Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the
Holy Spirit. 39 The promise is for you and your children and for all who are
far off — for all whom the Lord our God will call."
40 With many
other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." 41 Those
who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to
their number that day.
42 They
devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the
breaking of bread and to prayer. 43 Everyone was filled with awe, and many
wonders and miraculous signs were done by the apostles.
