Jesus’ Words in Red Peace

Jesus’ Words in Red

Peace

Peace I leave with you;

The Nations, Religious Leaders, the crowds
All are crying for peace and their cries only stirs up more turmoil and war
The Prince of this World has convinced that world peace will come without God
Peace comes through personal freedoms
But Jesus the Prince of Peace said
“for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.”
That is why Jesus said
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
If you want the peace Jesus talked about
Love the Father and do what He commands

Peace

I am sure you have heard
the cry for “World Peace”.

The world is looking for peace.

Whether it is a large country
like America, Russia, China

Or, smaller country like
Turkey, Iraq, North Korea.

Even groups of people, clubs and schools

Neighborhoods and families

The search for peace works its way
down to the smallest piece of real estate…

Our mind and heart.

  The 60’s brought us colorful
symbols in a quest for peace not war.

The two finger symbol is now
commonly accepted as the symbol of peace.

What is so ironic and troubling is our
pursuit for peace, creates war and violent protests.

Whether you believe in world peace
through war or world peace through love…

All the cries for peace,
and there is not peace.

Jesus says…

“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you.”

The peace Jesus is leaving
with the Disciples is different, Jesus says…

“I do not give to you as the world gives”

The timing of these words came as
Jesus was telling the disciples He was leaving.

Jesus says…

“I will not speak with you much longer,
for the prince of this world is coming.”

Jesus although referring to the Devil
chose to call him the “Prince of this World”.

The Prince of this World tried to tempt
Jesus in the wilderness before Jesus
begins to preach the Kingdom message.

In Luke 4:13 it says
Satan departed for a season.

The Devil is a thief who
comes to rob, kill and destroy.
John 10

Satan’s season is over and he is
coming back to kill the Prince of Peace.
Jesus says…

“He has no hold on me”

This is alarming.

The true hope of peace
was about to be crucified.

All the world is crying Peace, Peace.

The Prince of this World got the nations,
religious leaders, the crowds who cry out
for peace to focus on removing Jesus
so peace would come on earth.

This news is being replayed
every night on our news stations.

The Prince of this World has convinced
the people that peace is what ever
feels right in your own eyes.

There is a left and a right.

On the far left is the Prince of this World
with the promise of peace and freedom to
do whatever feels right in your own eyes.

On the right is Jesus Christ who says…

“the world must learn that I love the Father and
that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.”

Peace only comes through loving the
Father and obeying His commands.

It is easy to see when you look at the
extremes of both, the Prince of
the World and the Prince of Peace.

But we all get confused in
the midst of these two extremes.

We seem to find our own
peace somewhere in the middle.

Jesus went all the way.

He put it all on the line,
He stood for “Righteousness”.

He loved the Father and did everything
the Father commanded Him to do.

The Prince of this World killed Him for that.

BUT…

Even death could not stop the Prince of Peace.

Now all who believe in Him
can be washed of their sin…

The very thing that give us peace with God.

And that is why Jesus said…

“Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.”

Scripture Reading

John 14:25-31 NIV

25 "All this I have spoken while still with you. 26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you. 27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

28 "You heard me say, 'I am going away and I am coming back to you.' If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, for the Father is greater than I. 29 I have told you now before it happens, so that when it does happen you will believe. 30 I will not speak with you much longer, for the prince of this world is coming. He has no hold on me, 31 but the world must learn that I love the Father and that I do exactly what my Father has commanded me.

"Come now; let us leave.
