Jesus’ Words in Red The Message

Jesus’ Words in Red

The Message

'No servant is greater than his master.'
If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.

The Message
Why does the world hate Jesus?
Isn’t Jesus the one who shared a message of love and peace?
Isn’t Jesus the one who told us about eternal life and heaven?
Isn’t the message of Jesus full of hope?
Why would anyone hate someone who came sharing such wonderful news?
Why would anyone hate a man who healed people, and fed multitudes?
Why would anyone hate a doer of good?
It is unbelievable but Jesus says
"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”

The Message

Why does the world hate Jesus?

Isn’t Jesus the one who shared a message of love and peace?

Isn’t Jesus the one who told us about eternal life and heaven?

Isn’t the message of Jesus full of hope?

Why would anyone hate someone who
came sharing such wonderful news?

Why would anyone hate a man who
 healed people, and fed multitudes?

Why would anyone hate a doer of good?

It is unbelievable but Jesus says…

"If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first.”
“If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.”

So what is it about Jesus that the world hates?

“If I had not come and spoken to them,
they would not be guilty of sin.
Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin.”

Jesus’ teachings dealt with “SIN”.

Jesus’ message on “Love” was
not a message of “Free Love”.

Definition of “Free Love”…

the idea or practice of having sexual relations according to choice,
without being restricted by marriage or other long-term relationships.

Free love is a social movement that accepts all forms of love.
The Free Love movement's initial goal was to separate the state from
sexual matters such as marriage, birth control, and adultery. Wikipedia

Jesus was not afraid to give the “hard saying”.

At one point the crowd left Jesus because
the things He said were hard to understand.

The saying was so hard even His
disciples did not understand.
 John 6:60

Jesus’ teaching on heaven was exclusive.

He taught that it was hard to
enter into the kingdom of heaven.
  Mark 10:23-24

The world has not changed.

Look at America a country
founded on religious freedoms.

Like “In God We Trust”.

There is a left movement to remove
everything that points to God.

Jesus in His final words to the disciples
wanted to make sure they didn’t think it
strange that He is hated and persecuted.

Jesus said…

'No servant is greater than his master.'
If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also.
If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.

Why does the world persecute the Master’s disciples?

Because the disciple is to
teach the same things Jesus taught.

Jesus did not come to tell us
we were doing a good job.

His message of truth confronted
wrong thinking and actions.

Even though Jesus did not
come to condemn the world…

The world took His teaching as an attack.

Even Jesus who loved the world
so much that He died for it…

Was seen as a threat.

You and I as disciples of Christ are not to
go out condemning but we are to
teach the truth about life and heaven.

Jesus did not let the world
intimidate Him and neither should we.

The message is too important.

Scripture Reading

John 15:18-25 NIV

18 "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. 19 If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. 20 Remember the words I spoke to you: 'No servant is greater than his master.' If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. 21 They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. 22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. 23 He who hates me hates my Father as well. 24 If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my Father. 25 But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: 'They hated me without reason.'
