Jesus’ Words in Red Faith and Doing

Jesus’ Words in Red

Faith and Doing

“… anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing.”

Jesus used Visual Aids
Every miracle He did had a message
That brought greater understanding to His message
We, too, are to do what Jesus was doing
The Teacher said,
You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
So when you are teaching God’s Word ask Him for some Visual Aids
So the message will become clearer

Faith and Doing

Faith, Jesus says…

“Anyone who has faith in me

I am an “Anyone” and so are you.

Jesus is not talking about just the
disciples or pastors of big churches.

Jesus is saying you and I
who have faith in Him…

“Will do what I have been doing.”

So what is it that Jesus is doing?

For many, including myself, what
we see Jesus doing is miracles.

Jesus just said the verse before this…

“Believe me when I say that I am in the Father and the Father is in me;
or at least believe on the evidence of the miracles themselves.”
John 14:11

Then, in the next breath, the same verse, Jesus says…

“He will do even greater things than these”

Over 40 years ago, I received
the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.

Since that time I have laid my hands
on thousands to receive a miracle.

I have traveled to many places to see miracles.

I never was a sign seeker, but I wanted people
to see the power of God so they would believe
and I wanted to destroy the works of the Devil.

I still strongly believe in Mark 16…

Signs will follow those who believe and
God will confirm the preaching of
His Word with signs and wonders.

40 years has been a long time.

On this journey, there has been miracles.

The early church has amazing stories of miracles.

One amazing miracle is in Acts 5…

…more and more men and women believed in the Lord and were added to their number. 15 As a result, people brought the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and mats so that at least Peter's shadow might fall on some of them as he passed by. 16 Crowds gathered also from the towns around Jerusalem, bringing their sick and those tormented by evil spirits,
and all of them were healed.
 Acts 5:14-16

WOW!!!

The power in Peter was so great
that people were healed by his shadow.

Now that is the kind of power I want in
my life, but I don’t read that any of the
other disciples had that same power.

But miracles were happening
by the other disciples.

Interesting, in Acts 19, it said Paul did
extraordinary miracles with a handkerchief…

God did extraordinary miracles through Paul,
so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him were taken to the sick,
and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them.”
Acts 19:11-12

So maybe you are like me, you are an…

“anyone who has faith in Jesus

And it is a cloudy day so you don’t even
have a shadow and you need your handkerchief
because you need it for that runny nose.

So what should you do?

Jesus says…

Do what I have been doing.”

Jesus was not a side show of miracles.

He came with a message and He
was actively living out that message.

Every miracle Jesus did was
a result of what He was doing.

Jesus did not do miracles to draw a crowd.

The miracles Jesus did had a message of its own.

Miracles did not just happen because a person had a need.

Look at the lame man at the pool; out of
all the people waiting for a healing,
Jesus only healed the lame man.

If you take a close look at every miracle,
Jesus did it with a specific message.

Each miracle had a message, it was a
confirmation to what Jesus was teaching.

Teaching with Visual Aids is very
helpful and Jesus was a master at it.

So if you are an anyone like me
who has put your faith in Jesus…

Look at what Jesus was doing…

Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,
preaching the good news of the kingdom,

Where ever your Galilee is…

Teach people about the Good News of the Kingdom of God.

and healing every disease and sickness among the people.
Matthew 4:23

Focus on the message of the eternal
kingdom that changes lives forever.

And remember Jesus, the Great Teacher, said…

“You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.”

So ask for some Visual Aids so
the Word of God will become clear.

Scripture Reading

John 14:12-14 NIV

12 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. 13 And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Son may bring glory to the Father. 14 You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it.
