Being Successful The Family in Training

Being Successful
The Family in Training

A parent cannot give a child everything they need in life
They must make their own accomplishments
But parents can give their children faith and the discipline
They will need to lay the foundation for their lives
The training a child in the way they should go when properly done
Allows the child to become whatever God calls them to be
Because they will have been taught Wisdom, Knowledge,
Understanding and Discernment
These things will grow because they will have known the value of Discipline
The rewards of Faith and Discipline lead to successful living

The Family in Training

Life…. What is more amazing?

Life ….What is more wonderful?

In the beginning God created life of all forms in the earth.

God has given us this power to create life.

If you are a mother or father chances are you under-
stand what it is to be filled with amazement and wonder.

With creating life comes the greatest
responsibility a person can have.

You have heard it said,
“Nothing is more important than family”.

Success starts at home
1 Timothy 3:4,5

For those of us who realize God is the author of life,
we realize there is a second birth that must
take place to make the first birth of any value.

Jesus said, “You must be born again”.

The first birth is by the will of the parents.

The second birth is “through faith”.

The first responsibility as parents
is to instill faith in our children.

We can give our children the whole world but
if they lose their soul in Hell what value is that.

In order to have faith you must have discipline.

You cannot keep the faith without Discipline.

The Book of Proverbs starts out with…

“The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
for attaining wisdom and discipline ; for understanding words of insight;
for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life
Proverbs 1:1-3 NIV

Proverbs starts out with and continues throughout
the Book with the importance of “Discipline”.

Discipline… there is a lot of theories on the subject.

It takes discipline to be successful in life.

Discipline means to correct.

There are many ways to bring correction.

Sometimes correction comes easy and other
times it has to come the hard way.

Discipline at times requires punishment.

In raising children Proverbs gives us some
good advice concerning discipline.

Discipline used properly is a demonstration of true love.
 Proverbs 13:24

Proper discipline has proper objectives…

To remove foolishness from a child
 Proverbs 22:15

To save the soul of a child
Proverbs 23:13,14

To impart wisdom and avoid shame
Proverbs 29:15

Proper discipline has rewards such as peace and delight
Proverbs 29:17

Discipline at the time is not pleasant but later in life the child
who sees the discipline was in love and helps them
later in life, will love you and show gratefulness.

Discipline must be applied before the situation
gets out of hand (while there is still hope).

Discipline must also be applied under controlled
circumstances (do not be willing party to his death)
Proverbs 19:18

Discipline is not to be used to vent your anger
Ephesians 6:4

A very familiar verse in Proverbs concerning
the wisdom of childrearing is Proverbs 22:6.

Train a child in the way he should go, and when
he is old he will not turn from it.

The word “Train” means to start with discipline.

Spiritual discipline develop self-control.

As children grow they develop skills and
their personality become more obvious.

It is the early disciplines of their character and the disciplines
of how to gain wisdom, knowledge and self-control that will
give them the freedom to become all God has gifted them to be.

If your child wants to be a pilot and fly jets you can help them
achieve their goals even though you would not be caught any
higher than the first step on a step ladder.

The disciplines we give our children are the start to a
time when they will need to discipline themselves.

Because you must have self-discipline to be successful.

A parent cannot give a child everything they need in life.

They must make their own accomplishments.

But parents can give their children faith and the discipline
they will need to lay the foundation for their lives.

The training a child in the way they should go when properly
done allows the child to become whatever God calls them to be.

Because they will have been taught Wisdom, Knowledge,
Understanding and Discernment and these things will
grow because they will have known the value of Discipline.

The rewards of Faith and Discipline lead to successful living.
