Being Successful
Trust
There are many paths we
will take in our life time
The successful path is the
one that gets you to the right place
What fills your heart will
determine how straight the path will be
Being successful is not
blindly trusting in the Lord
Being successful comes to
those who have filled their hearts
With the Word of the Lord
and draw upon it in all our ways
Trust
The beginning of the year, Sandy and I leave
the cold winter in Ohio and go to Florida.
When I was younger I used to drive the 24 hours to get
from cold to hot, from clouds and snow to sun and beach.
At times we drove it straight through and
at times we took rests and made it in days.
Driving took us through mountains that were sometimes
beautiful and other times my knuckles were white
because of the death grip to the steering wheel as
we faced the mountain curves in freezing rain.
Now flying has become my choice of transportation;
a direct flight gets us there in 2 hours and 15 minutes.
Straight and level once you reach altitude.
I asked a friend to come down to Florida
for a few days but this friend won’t fly.
Many people have a fear of flying.
They don’t trust a 75 ton Boeing 737
and all its mechanical parts to fly.
I have seen the
safety records of aircraft and
don’t think of the impossibility of 75 tons flying.
TRUST
It takes trust to take the straight path for Toledo to
Florida.
Proverbs 3: 5 says…
“Trust in the Lord”
Trusting in the Lord is like trusting in a plane
and a pilot, your life depends on them.
But this trust is not a blind trust.
The verse says…
“Trust in the LORD with all
your heart”
The verses before this verse tells us to
keep His commandments in our hearts…
To document love and faithfulness on
our hearts.
A heart that is filled with the Word of
God
will find it easier to trust God.
Trusting in God is not always waiting
for Him to clear the path.
Sometimes trusting God is doing what He
has said to do.
The biggest obstacle to trusting God for
the straight path is us.
Our understanding is shaped by the
influences in our lives.
There are many paths we will take in our
life time.
The successful path is the one that gets
you to the right place.
What fills your heart will determine
how straight the path will be.
Being successful is not blindly trusting
in the Lord.
Being successful comes to those who have
filled their hearts with the Word of the
Lord
and draw upon it in all our ways.
Scripture Reading
Proverbs 3:5, 6
Trust in the LORD with
all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
