Being Successful The 3 “P’s of Success Prolong your Life, Peace and Prosperity

Being Successful
The 3 “P’s of Success
Prolong your Life, Peace and Prosperity

Success…

How would you describe it?

Ask yourself how do you obtain it?

Proverbs 3:1, 2

Sums up the answer to these 2 questions

The 3 “P’s of Success
Prolong your Life, Peace and Prosperity

Success, how would you describe it?

Ask yourself how do you obtain it?

Proverbs 3:1, 2 sums up the
answer to these 2 questions.

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.

Prolonging life, Peace, and Prosperity
are always hot subjects.

If you have ever sat in a waiting room and picked
up a magazine to pass the time, you probably
read or at least saw an article on the Keys to Success.

It would be impossible to count
all the articles on the “How To’s”

How to Prolong your life

How to have Peace

How to get Prosperity

I can’t think of a more simple and profound
way of defining success than with these 3 P’s.

In verse 1, we are given two “To Do’s”…

 “Do not forget my teachings”

“Keep my commandments in your heart”

In the way Proverbs 3:1, 2 is written,
we see simplicity is very important to success.

As we unpack the simple definition of success and how to
obtain it in life, we may become overwhelmed even confused.

It is at these times we need to go
back to the simple beginnings.

If we want to obtain the 3 P’s there
are two things we need to do…

“Do not forget my teachings.”

Not to forget is to have been taught
or learned something in the past.

It is important to realize teachings
do not make you successful.

You have to have it and it has to be the truth.

Success comes to those who don’t forget it.

You and I need to make sure we don’t
forget the teachings of God’s Word.

There are two helpful things not to forget.

First, go back over the Word of God daily.

Second, in each situation you are in
 ask yourself the question,
 What Would Jesus Do?

 The second To Do is…

“Keep my commands in your heart.”

Don’t take God’s Word lightly;
 it is not a suggestion.

God’s words are “Commands” but
notice where the Commands are stored…

“In the Heart”

The commands are not just kept in the mind as some
intellectual knowledge but in the seat of our emotions.

We will not be successful if we approach
life like the Sadducees and Pharisees.

They had the Word of God,
but it was law not life.

It was not beating out of their hearts.

Success is not formulas and rituals.

Success has to come from the heart because
true success is always lived out.

That is why Jesus came that we might
have life and have it to the FULL.

It is important to have this simple
foundation to be successful…

The 3 “P’s of Success
Prolong your life, Peace and Prosperity.

Scripture Reading

Proverbs 3:1-10

My son, do not forget my teaching,
but keep my commands in your heart,
for they will prolong your life many years
and bring you peace and prosperity.
Let love and faithfulness never leave you;
bind them around your neck,
write them on the tablet of your heart.
Then you will win favor and a good name
in the sight of God and man.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD and shun evil.
This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
Honor the LORD with your wealth,
with the first fruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new wine.
