Being
Successful
Admonition
to Trust and Honor
In Proverbs 3 we are admonished to embrace two things
Trust and Honor
Trust and Honor is the core of what faith is
“Trust in the Lord with ALL your HEART”
“Honor the Lord with your WEALTH”
The Decisions and Choices we make in life
are a result of Trust and Honor
Being
Successful
Admonition
to Trust and Honor
Hebrews 11:6 tells us…
“Without
FAITH it is impossible to please God.”
Trust
and Honor
Trust
and Honor is the core of what faith is.
“Trust in the Lord with
ALL your HEART”
“Honor the Lord with
your WEALTH”
The
decisions and choices we make in life
are
a result of Trust and Honor.
The admonition is Trust in the Lord, Honor the Lord.
The word Lord in Hebrew is…
“The name of
the Creator”
This is where it all starts.
Hebrews 11:6 says…
“Without faith it is impossible to please God”
It also says…
“Because anyone who comes to him must
believe that he exists”
The proof of God’s existence starts with creation.
Romans 1:19 - 21 makes this point…
“For what may be known about God is
plain to them, because God has made it plain to them. For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities, His eternal power and divine nature, have been
clearly seen,
being understood from His workmanship, so that men are without excuse. For although they knew God, they
neither glorified Him as God nor gave thanks to Him, but they became futile in
their thinking and darkened in their foolish hearts.…”
Looking around us we can clearly see
there is a Creator and the amazing things in
creation cause us to know He is a good Creator.
It should be our life goal to
get to know this Creator, there
is no excuse for ignoring Him.
Hebrews 11:6 also tells us…
We must not
only believe God exists but
“that
he rewards those who earnestly seek him.”
When we believe that every provision
we have comes from the God of creation…
It is only right that we honor
Him with all our wealth.
When we trust in the Lord and
Honor the Lord with our wealth…
The God of creation will reward
us with overflowing increase.
It is these
verses in Proverbs 3 that
provoke us to ask ourselves the question…
Do I trust the Lord with “ALL my Heart”?
Does everything I own honor the Lord?
Scripture
Reading
Trust in the LORD
with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the LORD
and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.
9 Honor the LORD with your
wealth,
with the firstfruits of all your crops;
10 then your barns will be filled to overflowing,
and your vats will brim over with new
wine.
