Being Successful Choices

Being Successful
Choices

How would you like to make a dollar for every decision you make a day

Or, what if you lost a dollar for every decision you make in a day

According to various internet sources it is estimated that adults
make about 35,000 remotely conscious decisions each day

Every decision has a value

Even the decision not to make a decision, has a cost

Decisions are important

They determine everything about our life

We make choices from emotions and logic and

Yet, they cannot be trusted, so,

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.”

The choices we make every day affect us the
moment they are made as well as our future.

So how do we make good choices?

The first thing we need to recognize is every
decision is made from either our heart or our mind.

Decisions are either emotional or logical.

We choose by what we think and feel.

Our choices may be heavily on the logical or
heavily on the emotional or a blend of both.

The first thing we should remember is
God gave us the ability to feel and think.

Both emotions and logic have the power of good and bad.

Therefore, we must remember…

“Emotions are a good servant but a bad master.”

“Logic is a good servant but a bad master.”

I had a man who worked for me, he was a very likeable guy.

Because of bad choices, he was divorced and in debt.

The effects of his choices not only were too heavy
and costly for him, but also his parents and friends.

He met a woman with three kids and
within a couple of months they married.

The stress from his choices began to effect his health
and the performance of His work he did for me.

I was forced to move him or lose a supplier.

After moving him and trying to help him,
he began to shut down and I had to let him go.

About 6 months later, I received a phone call.

He, his wife and 3 kids were broke down in Kentucky on US 75
with no money and had been sleeping in their van for months.

His emotions ruled his decisions.

He had a desire to love and be loved.

The man is a good man but he made his
choices on what makes him feel good.

His emotions make him impulsive and
therefore he does not think things through.

Adam and Eve were good people.

But their desires effected their emotions and logic…

“There is a way that seems right to a man but the end is destruction.”
Proverbs 16:25

Even good people make bad choices.

Therefore we should…

“Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.”

Scripture  Reading

Genesis 2:15-17
The LORD God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, “You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; 17 but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Proverbs 16:1-3
To humans belong the plans of the heart,
but from the LORD comes the proper answer of the tongue.
All a person’s ways seem pure to them,
but motives are weighed by the LORD.
Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and he will establish your plans.
