Being Successful A Powerful Woman, Wisdom

Being Successful
A Powerful Woman, Wisdom

Wisdom, the Bible places wisdom on the highest shelf of honor

The value of wisdom is greater than gold and silver

In Proverbs 1:20, God gives us a picture of wisdom

Wisdom is a “woman” standing out in the public square

A Powerful Woman

Gender equality is a big issue.

There are those who think the Bible
makes women second class citizens.

Gender and sexual equality battles
have got way out of line on both sides.

On one side women are treated as objects and on
the other side all gender restrooms and women
should be allowed to dress topless because men do.

I don’t know where you take your stand but I will focus
on the God who made male and female to show me
the blessings of both and why He made them different.

In Proverbs 1:20, we read something amazing…

“Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
she raises her voice in the public square;”

Wisdom…

The Bible places wisdom on the highest shelf of honor.

The value of wisdom is greater than gold and silver.

Here in verse 20 God gives us a picture of wisdom.

Wisdom is a “woman” standing out in the public square.

The public square is not only where commerce
takes place with every type of buying and selling…

It is a place where the elders, the leaders,
come to handle the affairs of the community.

So if you are a woman, God thinks very highly of you.

Are you up for the challenge?

If you are a man, do you model the
same respect God has for the women?

Enough said about gender, let’s look at this woman.

This woman is outspoken and bold.

She stands on the wall above everything else.

She is strategically positioned at the gate to the city.

She has a message for everything
that goes in and out of the gate.

She is not afraid to speak the truth.

Her words are deep, they are meant to make you think.

Her words are not meant to make you comfortable,
because her words are the words for successful living.

She can be offensive to those who want to live a simple life.

She is a woman that is in your face.

She requires repentance at her rebuke.

Why?  Because you cannot be successful without her teachings.

She has no sympathy for those who take her words lightly.

She knows that if you don’t take her
words serious your life will be ruined.

If you try to prove her wrong by
ignoring her, you will pay the price.

She will laugh when disaster strikes
and even mock when calamity comes.

She will not care about your tears and cuddle
you and say everything will be alright.

In fact, when you have done your own thing and you have
made a mess of your life, she won’t answer your call for help.

She is one tough lady because she has to be.

Wisdom cannot be compromised.

Scripture Reading

Proverbs 1:20-33

20 Out in the open wisdom calls aloud,
she raises her voice in the public square;
21 on top of the wall she cries out,
at the city gate she makes her speech:
22 “How long will you who are simple love your simple ways?
How long will mockers delight in mockery
and fools hate knowledge?
23 Repent at my rebuke!
Then I will pour out my thoughts to you,
I will make known to you my teachings.
24 But since you refuse to listen when I call
and no one pays attention when I stretch out my hand,
25 since you disregard all my advice
and do not accept my rebuke,
26 I in turn will laugh when disaster strikes you;
I will mock when calamity overtakes you—
27 when calamity overtakes you like a storm,
when disaster sweeps over you like a whirlwind,
when distress and trouble overwhelm you.
28 “Then they will call to me but I will not answer;
they will look for me but will not find me,
29 since they hated knowledge
and did not choose to fear the LORD.
30 Since they would not accept my advice
and spurned my rebuke,
31 they will eat the fruit of their ways
and be filled with the fruit of their schemes.
32 For the waywardness of the simple will kill them,
and the complacency of fools will destroy them;
33 but whoever listens to me will live in safety
and be at ease, without fear of harm.”
