Being Successful Having the Best Dad

Being Successful
Having the Best Dad

Being Successful depends on being born again

Obedience to God our Heavenly Father

Giving close attention to His instruction and teaching

Making good choices of the people we hang out with

The full life Father God has for me does not come by ill-gotten gain

Who is your dad?

“Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
 They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.” Proverbs 1:8, 9

The first question we need to ask ourselves
is where does my instruction come from?

What has been the governing influence
I have grown up under?

At this point we realize that even the
best parents aren’t perfect parents.

Maybe your parents were not good parents
and you have not learned the keys to success.

The good news is God the Creator
of your life wants to be your Father.

In order for God to become your Father
“you must be born again”.  John 3

You did not have a choice of parents
when you were born into this world.

But being born again is a choice you make.

To be born again and have God as your Father you
must determine that God will be LORD of your life.

The choice of obedience to what God the Father says.

We are not only required to obey
Him but to be like Him.

We are to carry out the Father’s business.

The Heavenly Father wants all His
children to rule and reign with Him.

So keep this in mine as you read Proverbs 1:8, 9.

It is interesting that the Father gives a warning first…

“My son, if sinful men entice you, do not give in to them….” V. 10
“Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain;
it takes away the life of those who get it.” V. 19

The path of sinners will go after “ill-gotten gain”.

Ill-gotten gain takes the “life” out of you.

There is no doubt according to the scriptures God wants
you to prosper, and He wants you to have a full life.

The achievement of prosperity and fullness of life
does not come from taking advantage of others.

Although many make wrong choices in life
it is not God’s will that any should perish.

It is clear through the teachings of Jesus
that prosperity comes as we love one another.

Through making friends. Luke 16:9

Being successful depends on being born again.

Obedience to God our Heavenly Father.

Giving close attention to His instruction and teaching.

Making good choices of the people we hang out with.

The full life Father God has for me
does not come by ill-gotten gain.

Scripture Reading

Proverbs 1:8- 19

Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.
10 My son, if sinful men entice you,
do not give in to them.
11 If they say, “Come along with us;
let’s lie in wait for innocent blood,
let’s ambush some harmless soul;
12 let’s swallow them alive, like the grave,
and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
13 we will get all sorts of valuable things
and fill our houses with plunder;
14 cast lots with us;
we will all share the loot”—
15 my son, do not go along with them,
do not set foot on their paths;
16 for their feet rush into evil,
they are swift to shed blood.
17 How useless to spread a net
where every bird can see it!
18 These men lie in wait for their own blood;
they ambush only themselves!
19 Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain;
it takes away the life of those who get it.
