The Blessing
Spiritual blessing
The favor
Ever ask a friend to do you a favor?
My neighbor and I do favors
for each other all the time.
Over the winter, he has plowed my snow;
in the spring, I
helped him with my backhoe.
It is nice to have someone you can
count on when you need a favor.
As much favor my neighbor and I have for
each other, there are some needs we cannot meet.
Think about this…
Asking God for a
favor.
What kind of favor would
you like God to do for you?
Every time favor is given
grace is poured out.
I know a lot of people who are full
of favor, grace flows from them.
They would do anything for anyone.
The Scriptures tell us over and over
again that our God is full of grace.
He loves to do favors.
As we look at the spiritual blessings
in heaven, we see God’s “Glorious Grace”.
God has freely given it to
us in “the One He loves”…
Forgiveness, Adoption, Redemption
Jesus’ journey to the world, His
Message of wisdom and knowledge,
His suffering and pain;
Was to connect you to God the Father
so you would be in the greatest position to
receive His favor the
grace He is so full of.
The closer you are to someone
the greater expressions of favor.
Through Jesus the offensive things
we have done, He
forgives.
Through Jesus, you and I,
can become children of God.
Through Jesus, the wreckage we
have made of life, God redeems us.
The greatest hindrances to
receiving favor Jesus removed.
So the first thing we should do is be thankful.
Now “in everything by
prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let
your requests be
made known unto God.” Philippians 4:6
Because He wants to release His favor/grace on us.
If with God there is not a day without His grace…
Then with us there should not be
a day without gratefulness.
If you are grateful, than go
ahead ask God for a favor.
Scripture
Reading
Ephesians 1:3-7 NIV
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in
Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy
and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his
sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the
praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
Philippians 4:6 KJV
6 Be careful for nothing; but in everything by prayer and
supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
