The Blessing Hope

The Blessing
Hope

Blessed Hope is Eternal Hope
Keeps us alive till the day we die

“While we wait for the blessed hope — the glorious
appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ”
Titus 2:13

You may not use the word hope in the
thousands of words you speak today.

In all the thoughts you have today,
the word hope may not appear.

But one thing for sure you cannot live without hope.

Hope keeps us going.

Hope puts the smile on our face.

Hope gets us to the next day and we will accept
all kinds of hope just to make us feel better.

When we have lost hope, we can
be willing to accept false hope.

We will lie to ourselves and others to
buy us time until real hope comes.

We have to have hope to live.

Our darkest days are the
days our hope is eclipsed.

As the Bible says…

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick,
but a longing fulfilled is a tree of life.” Proverbs 13:12 NIV

Hope is that expectation of good.

We sometimes will waste a good part
of the week just hoping for Friday.

Hope causes us to take action.

We don’t do anything without hope.

Even if what we do only makes
us feel better for the moment.

You and I need more then “False
Hope” or “Deferred Hope”.

Hope is always something you wait for.

Paul tells Titus, “We wait for a “Blessed hope”…

Blessed, good fortune, supreme good feeling, to be well off.

Blessed hope is found only in God’s Word.

Isaiah 55:11 NIV…

“So is my word that goes out from my mouth:
It will not return to me empty,
but will accomplish what I desire
and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.”

When we put our hope in God’s Word it becomes…

The anchor of our soul.

“…it is impossible for God to lie, we who have fled to take hold of
the hope offered to us may be greatly encouraged. We have this
hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure.” Hebrews 6:18-19 NIV

False and deferred hope may help
us feel better for the moment.

But it will keep us from the Blessed hope.

Blessed hope causes the soul (the seat of our
emotions) press on, keep working, never give up.

Why because the blessed hope goes
beyond feeling good today.

Blessed hope sees a bright future.

Blessed hope sees an eternal future.

What is the “Blessed Hope”?

“The glorious appearing of our
great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.”

Now that is worth waiting for.

That is the hope that has gotten men and women
throughout history through the dark days of life.

It gave them faith to keep pressing
forward until the day they died.

How about you…

Is your hope able to keep you going
strong knowing that someday you will die?

Blessed hope is Eternal hope.

Scripture Reading

Titus 2:11-14 NIV

11 For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. 12 It teaches us to say "No" to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, 13 while we wait for the blessed hope — the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, 14 who gave himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for himself a people that are his very own, eager to do what is good.
