I John Made complete in love

I John
Made complete in love

“…if anyone obeys his word,
God's love is truly made complete in him.”

1 John 2:5

Imagine being complete, mature, perfected in “Love”.

According to Philippians 1:6…

“Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you
will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” NIV

There is a process taking place in
every believer to complete us.

Sin makes us incomplete;
Sin lacks love and misses the mark of perfection.

God’s Word is given to us
to keep us from sinning…

To help us make the perfect decisions.

But if we sin, Jesus Christ the one who does every-
thing right, stands before the Father on our defense.

It is important for us to realize that God’s love for us to
cover our sin is the same love He has for the whole world.

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that
whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” John 3:16 NIV

As wonderful as God’s love for you is…

As complete and secure you feel in His love…

You and I must never forget that same love and
security God wants for every person in the world.

If God’s love and forgiveness is given in love,
you and I must have the same love for our neighbor.

The process of completeness takes
place as we get to know God.

“The man who says, "I know him," but does not do
what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him.”1 Jh.2:4

Knowledge is key,
but the key must be put into the lock.

You can read all the “how to’s” but
unless you “do” the project is not complete.

We have more than a “how to” manual.

You and I have a personal trainer.

God’s love is made complete in
us as we live like Jesus did.

It is sometimes hard to wrap our minds
around anything other than our needs.

But our completeness comes as we grow beyond
our own needs and love the world God loves.

The “how to’s” of the “I do’s” can only make us
complete through a love that is big enough to love the world.

A world incomplete, full of sin, Christ
loved and sacrificed His life for.

It is true, we love God
because He first loved us.

But the journey of completeness
will take us to loving the world.

“…since God so loved us, we also
ought to love one another.” 1John 4:11

“In this way, love is made complete among us
so that we will have confidence on the day of
judgment, because in this world we are like him.” 1 John 4:17

My prayer…

Lord, enlighten me with your Word so I may
know how to love others as you love them.

Scripture Reading  NIV

1 John 2:1-6
2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense — Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.

3 We know that we have come to know him if we obey his commands. 4 The man who says, "I know him," but does not do what he commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5 But if anyone obeys his word, God's love is truly made complete in him. This is how we know we are in him: 6 Whoever claims to live in him must walk as Jesus did.

1 John 4:11-12
Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

1 John 4:16-17
Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17 In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him
