The Blessing
Knowing God’s Will
The Mystery made
known
“He made known to us the mystery of his will according
to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ.”
Ephesians 1:9
I think there is a part of us that loves mystery.
It is what keeps us glued to a movie, or a book.
A mystery is something unknown,
a puzzle, riddle, secret or problem.
As much as we love a mystery we love
even more the answer to the mystery.
Mystery is all around us.
Mystery can be like a large storage locker going up for
auction,
you can see there are household items, tools, even
collectables,
but you cannot go in unless you are the successful bidder.
Once you pay the price, you can go in and see all the
things hidden behind the obvious things in the front.
Mystery can be troubling when you can’t get
something fixed until you solve the mystery.
Many people go through life having one
thing after another go wrong for them.
Frustration builds as we wonder
why things don’t go right for us.
I heard a man who was mining for gold and he had
found it, but his equipment kept breaking down.
He said the “gold gods are against me”.
When things are not going right and we don’t
know why, we many
time say, “Why God?”.
When this happens we can blame God and keep
doing things the way we always have done them.
Or, we can stop to realize maybe God has a better way.
One of the greatest blessings we have in heaven is…
God is pleased to make known the mystery of His will.
The purpose of God sending His
Son Jesus was to reveal “His Will”.
Jesus’ teaching opens the door and lets
us into the room of understanding.
Jesus opened the mystery of God’s will…
Things hidden for ages.
We don’t have to stand in front of the door any longer.
The auction is over - Jesus paid the price.
We can freely go into the room of all
knowledge, understanding, and wisdom.
We are invited to put on the mind of Christ.
Yes, as you pray and read your Bible you will
find a lot of things you won’t know what to
do with (but they will come in handy later).
But keep looking because God wants
you to know the mystery of His will.
He not only wants you to know the way to eternal
life but how to be successful everyday of your life.
Remember Jesus said, “I
came that you
might have life and
have it to the full”.
Go ahead live life smarter not harder.
Spend more time searching God’s
will and life will go easier.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 1:3-10 NIV
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in
Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy
and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his
sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the
praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in
accordance with the riches of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all
wisdom and understanding.
9 And he made known
to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed
in Christ
