The last blessing mentioned in the Bible

The last blessing mentioned in the Bible
Do your laundry

“Blessed are those who wash their robes,
that they may have the right to the tree of life
and may go through the gates into the city.”
Revelation 22:14

How often do you do your laundry?

I have known people who seem to never do laundry.

I walked through a house and in every
room was clothes on the floor and the steps
to the basement where the washing
machine was had clothes covering it.

Clothes that don’t get washed, end up with body
odor, food stains and environmental dirt on them.

They wrinkle and become blemished.

I don’t think I ever met anyone
who loved doing laundry.

It is something you have to do if you
want your clothes to look good.

God clothes His people.

No, I am not talking about
T-shirts with Christian slogans.

God gave Adam and Eve clothes
to cover up their nakedness.
Genesis 3:21

God gives clothes to the orphan and widows.
Deuteronomy 10:18

“I also clothed you with embroidered cloth and put
sandals of porpoise skin on your feet; and I wrapped
you with fine linen and covered you with silk. Ezekiel 16:10

Clothing is not something we should worry about,
God clothes the Lilies, He will clothe us. Luke 12:28

God said clothing is to identify who we are.

“A woman must not wear men's clothing,
nor a man wear women's clothing, for the
LORD your God detests anyone who does this.”
Deuteronomy 22:5 NIV

Our clothing sends a message
and it helps us to avoid sin.

...in like manner also, that the women
adorn themselves in modest apparel,
with propriety and moderation…. 1 Timothy 2:9

“I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall
exult in my God, for he has clothed me with
the garments of salvation; he has covered me
with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom
decks himself like a priest with a beautiful headdress,
and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.” Isaiah 61:10 ESV

God has clothed us in garments of
salvation and robes of righteous.

In Revelation 22, we are instructed to wash our robes.

I am not a person who wears white well.

Dirt is like a magnet to me.

Within a very short period of time
my white clothes need to be washed.

There are a lot of things you should
not do when you wear white clothes.

The victorious Christian is the one dressed in white.

“The one who is victorious will, like them,
be dressed in white. I will never blot out the
name of that person from the book of life”
Revelation 3:5

The washing of our robes is done with the Word of God.

“Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her
to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with
water through the word, and to present her to
himself as a radiant church, without stain or
wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.”
 Ephesians 5:25-28 NIV

Only the washed white robes
have the right to the Tree of Life.

Have you done your laundry today?

Scripture Reading

Revelation 22:14-15 NIV

14 "Blessed are those who wash their robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through the gates into the city. 15 Outside are the dogs, those who practice magic arts, the sexually immoral, the murderers, the idolaters and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.
