Called to Bless Inheriting the Blessing

Called to Bless
Inheriting the Blessing

Remember the last time you were insulted?

Can you remember your reaction?

Insults… it is abuse, its rude, slanderous, being maligned.

Insults are disrespectful.

The natural instant when insulted,
is to repay with an insult.

Insults offend either unintentionally or intentionally.

Insults come packaged in words or actions.
If you interact with people on a daily bases
you probably get insulted on a daily bases.

An insult can turn a great day into a
bad day faster than a coming tornado.

So how do we avoid and deal
with the devastation of insults.

The Bible tells us we all have to work on…

“living in harmony with one another; being sympathetic,
loving as brothers, being compassionate and humble.”

Recognize you can be offensive.

Think about what you say and
do and how it will affect others.

If you and I are insulted, God commands us…

Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult.”

We are commanded to stop the insult cycle by
repaying evil and insults with blessing.

The call of God on your life and
mine is to bless in word and deed.

The promise of fulfilling the call
of blessing is to inherit a blessing.

You and I do not want to disqualify
ourselves of our inheritance.

If you want to see good days and love life,
keep your tongue from evil.

When insults come, stop the evil
path of destruction and do good.

Seek peace and pursue it.

Remember our God is watching.

He sees the intents of our hearts.

Take your hurts to God in prayer.

His eyes see everything that happens to you.

He sees when your intelligence, weight, looks,
political views, sex, race etc. are assaulted.

You can be sure His ears will
be attentive to your prayers.

You can count on God to
 deal with the offender.

So you can continue to see good days.

Don't t let insults get in the way

of your calling to be a blessing.

Don’t let the offenses,
no matter how evil it might be,
keep you from inheriting your blessing.

Scripture Reading

1 Peter 3:8-12 NIV

8 Finally, all of you, live in harmony with one another; be sympathetic, love as brothers, be compassionate and humble. 9 Do not repay evil with evil or insult with insult, but with blessing , because to this you were called so that you may inherit a blessing . 10 For,

"Whoever would love life
and see good days
must keep his tongue from evil
and his lips from deceitful speech.
11 He must turn from evil and do good;
he must seek peace and pursue it.
12 For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil."
