The Blessing
Redemption
Only God can fix our Stupidity
And it takes a lot of Grace
When is the last time you complained about
the way something was done or wasn’t done?
Was it a complaint about the government,
your neighbor, co-worker or boss?
Maybe it was your spouse, child, mom or dad?
Then again, maybe it was you and you felt stupid.
That’s right “Stupid”.
That is what “Sin” is.
Sin is not using something for its intended use.
It could be your time, your thoughts, or the things around
you.
I am sure we have all used the word “Stupid”.
Think about it… isn’t “Sin” stupid?
I know it is not politically correct to call
people stupid or to
call them sinners.
But the fact is from the first beings
(Adam and Eve) we have all done stupid things
Where we did not use the brains God gave us
Wisdom, knowledge and understanding was
not a part of our decision making process.
I heard one Pastor say,
“I
don’t know how to fix stupid”.
It seems at the end of every day I wish I
would have done some things differently.
It seems the light bulb in
my mind turned on too late.
Yes, there is a lot of stupidity all
around us and it has consequences.
“The wages of sin is
death.”
I don’t think we realize how
much we need God’s “Redemption”.
For Him to fix our stupidity.
In Ephesians 1:7,8 it says,
“In him we have redemption through his blood,
the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's
grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.”
Redemption came through Christ’s blood, that’s the price.
Forgiveness took the fullness or riches,
in other words, a lot of God’s grace/favor.
But note where stupidity is the lack of using our brains God
used all wisdom and understanding to give us redemption.
Yes, God can and does
forgive our sin/stupidity.
But using His wisdom and understanding
will keep you from
being stupid.
I don’t think we realize how
personally we need God’s Redemption.
Don’t take redemption for granted and
forget the price our
stupidity cost Him.
Stay redeemed by seeking His
wisdom and
understanding daily.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians 1:3-9
3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,
who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in
Christ. 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy
and blameless in his sight. In love 5 he predestined us to be adopted as his
sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— 6 to the
praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.
7 In him we have
redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the
riches of God's grace 8 that he lavished on us with all wisdom and
understanding.
