Blessed are the Dead Who die in the Lord

Blessed are the Dead
Who die in the Lord

“Yes….. their deeds will follow them."
“Then I heard a voice from heaven say,
"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on."
"Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor,
for their deeds will follow them." Reelationv 14:13

I have been to more funerals then I can count and one
thing seems to be communicated among family and friends…

“Now they are in a better place”

It is amazing that almost all of us
think there is a blessing after death.

It seems no one wants to think that
there is not a blessing after death.

In Revelation 14, we see that there is a
blessing for those who die “in the Lord”.

Psalms 116:15 tells us…

“Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints. NIV

We do mourn the loss of our loved ones.

For the saints, those in the Lord,
the Lord looks forward to receiving
them into His eternal home.

We, for the most part, do not see
death the same way the Lord does.

We see it as a curse.

But for those who are in the Lord,
God sees death as a blessing.

Although death is draped in mystery, God makes
it very clear what happens to those who die.

In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, are given clear information
so we will not be “ignorant” about death.

“Brothers, we do not want you to be ignorant
about those who fall asleep, or to grieve
like the rest of men, who have no hope.” NIV

Although you can rent a U-Haul one way,
 you can’t take a U-Haul to heaven.

Earthy treasures will not follow you
after death but your “deeds will”.

The scriptures do not tell us our deeds get
us into heaven but they do follow us.

Being “in the Lord” gets us into heaven.

For those who are blessed to go to heaven
their good deeds will be very important.

Remember Jesus’ saying, “Well done good and faithful servant”
You have been faithful over a little I will give you much”

Heaven is a place you and I are to store up treasures in.  Matthew 6:20

Yes, death should be looked at as
a blessing for those “in the Lord”.

But the blessings increase for the faithful
who in this life are doing good works.

Scripture Reading

Revelation 14:13 NIV

13 Then I heard a voice from heaven say,
"Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on."

"Yes," says the Spirit,
"they will rest from their labor,
for their deeds will follow them."
