Blessing of all Blessings Blessing of getting the Wedding Supper Invitation

Blessing of all Blessings
Blessing of getting the Wedding Supper Invitation

Don’t turn down the blessing

Don’t be preoccupied with this life

May these be our words…

“Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.”

Then the angel said to me, "Write:
'Blessed are those who are invited to
the wedding supper of the Lamb!'"
And he added, "These are the true words of God."
Revelation 19:9

Revelation 19:9, Tells us there will be a
“Wedding supper of the Lamb”.

It is not hard to understand this is talking of Jesus.

It is interesting how the metaphor of a Lamb is used.

The sacrificed Lamb paying the
dowry with His life for the bride.

This has been a long awaited wedding supper.

Waiting for His bride to make herself ready.

The Church, He has been washing
with His Word to make her…

Holy, spotless adorned in a white garment. Ephesians 5

Jesus tells us in Matthew 22, that an invitation to this
wedding supper has gone out to the whole earth.

The imagery is of a King Ruler of the
earth sending out the invitations.

Revelation 19:9 says,
“Blessed are those who are invited.”

Everyone is blessed, no one is
exempt, from getting the invitation.

It was sent out in all the streets
and to the “good and bad”.

It is hard to image but the blessing is rejected.

Rejected because “they paid no attention
and went off”…to their own lives.

Jesus tells us the very servants who took
the invitations to the streets were killed.

Those who do receive the invitation
 cannot come as they are.

The guests must be wearing the proper wedding clothes.

You may come to church in casual clothing, but you
will not get into this supper with your worldly clothes.

You must put off the old self and put on the new.

In Revelation 19:7, the metaphor of the Lamb
who paid the price is also the Bridegroom.

Imagine the Bridegroom who
made such a loving sacrifice.

Imagine how this Wedding Supper of the Lamb
has been a long looked for and much desired hour.

The Savior, Himself desires it.

It is the hour that will bring Him the consummation of all
His wishes, the full reward of all His labor and sufferings.

And His Church desires it and cries out
“Come, Lord Jesus, come quickly.”

What is on your mind?

Are you looking and preparing
 like Jesus the Bridegroom?

Don’t miss the Blessing of all Blessings.

Scripture Reading NIV

Revelation 19:6-9
6 Then I heard what sounded like a great multitude, like the roar of rushing waters and like loud peals of thunder, shouting:
"Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
7 Let us rejoice and be glad
and give him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and his bride has made herself ready.
8 Fine linen, bright and clean,
was given her to wear."
(Fine linen stands for the righteous acts of the saints.)
9 Then the angel said to me, "Write:
'Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper of the Lamb!'"
And he added, "These are the true words of God."

Matthew 22:1-14
22:1 Jesus spoke to them again in parables, saying: 2 "The kingdom of heaven is like a king who prepared a wedding banquet for his son. 3 He sent his servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.

4 "Then he sent some more servants and said, 'Tell those who have been invited that I have prepared my dinner: My oxen and fattened cattle have been butchered, and everything is ready. Come to the wedding banquet.'
5 "But they paid no attention and went off — one to his field, another to his business. 6 The rest seized his servants, mistreated them and killed them. 7 The king was enraged. He sent his army and destroyed those murderers and burned their city.
8 "Then he said to his servants, 'The wedding banquet is ready, but those I invited did not deserve to come. 9 Go to the street corners and invite to the banquet anyone you find.' 10 So the servants went out into the streets and gathered all the people they could find, both good and bad, and the wedding hall was filled with guests.
11 "But when the king came in to see the guests, he noticed a man there who was not wearing wedding clothes. 12'Friend,' he asked, 'how did you get in here without wedding clothes?' The man was speechless.
13 "Then the king told the attendants, 'Tie him hand and foot, and throw him outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.'
14 "For many are invited, but few are chosen."
