Trust

The Secret Place

By William M. Self, Sr.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart

And you will find

The secret place of the Most High

Trust

Trust is key to life.

There is no place of rest for the
mind, or heart without trust.

Our future is like a bridge and without
trust in that bridge we go nowhere.

It has been said…

“Trust takes years to build, seconds
to break and forever to repair.”

All of us have been on a bridge of trust
that broke leaving us more cautious.

There are good reasons not to trust.

Every natural bridge has its
weaknesses and can fail…

Relationships, physical strength, and mental ability.

One of the most devastating failures
comes when our knowledge fails…

Things we believe in…

The things that shape our core values.

When the church we love, the pastor we believe in, or the
very doctrine we embrace fails us, we can become devastated.

These have all been doors that have helped us find God.

When these doors fail, our trust in God can fail.

There have been times in my life where
my life has been shaken to the core.

Everything I believed in was put to the test.

It was like a violent wind blowing off all the dust…

The clichés and collection of things that were not firmly attached.

Some of those things were old ways of thinking
like dust covering the real beauty of my life.

Others were highly valuable truths that
I never fully anchored into my life.

When trust is broken, faith fails.

At those times in my life, peace and security were hard to find.

2 Timothy 2:13 says… If we are faithless,
he will remain faithful, for he cannot disown himself. NIV

When all else fails and trust is shattered, God never fails.

The secret place of the Most High is where…

We believe “God is” and “He is a rewarder of those you seek Him”.

The secret to life is to never lose your trust in God.

The more you visit the secret place of the Most High…

The more trust you will have.

Scripture Reading

Psalm 91:1-3 NIV
91 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge
and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust."

3 Surely he will save you from the fowler's snare
and from the deadly pestilence.

Proverbs 3:5-8 NIV
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways acknowledge him,
and he will make your paths straight.

7 Do not be wise in your own eyes;
fear the Lord and shun evil.
8 This will bring health to your body
and nourishment to your bones.

Hebrews 11:6 NKJV
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him,
for he who comes to God must believe that He is,
and that He is a rewarder of those
 who diligently seek Him.
