The Million Dollar Life
By William M. Self, Sr.
Generosity can turn a penny
Into a million dollar smile
Turning a Penny into a Million
There are many advertisers saying you
can turn penny stocks into millions.
As someone who has studied
the stock market for 7 of 8 years…
And bought penny stocks,
it is a high risk.
When I was a boy, I had very
little money so every
penny counted.
I will never forget the day I was standing
in the cash register
line at a local store.
The person in front of me was checking out.
Their bill was six dollars and one cent and
the person handed a ten dollar bill to the cashier.
The lady at the register said…
Do you have a penny?
The person quickly checked and said, No.
I was used to having pennies, not dollars,
and gave the cashier
a penny.
It wasn’t like the person could not afford it.
In fact, I am sure the person was
wealthy in comparison to me.
As I handed the penny to the cashier, this
person I had never
seen before turned to me…
Their face had a look of surprise and then
turned into overwhelming
gratitude.
The smile on that person’s face gave
multiple thanks as they left the store.
The kind remarks from the cashier…
Would have made you think I gave
that person a million dollars.
Now that penny in my pocket only added to the
weight of my rabbits foot, pocket knife and
all the other treasures a boy has in his pocket.
But that penny made me feel like a millionaire.
Generosity should not only be given
to the poor and to loved
ones…
Generosity should be shown to everyone.
Because generosity makes million
dollar smiles.
Turn your pennies into millions…
Give them away and you will feel richer.
Scripture Reading
Ephesians
1:18-19 NIV
18 I pray
also that the eyes of your heart may
be enlightened in order that you may know the
hope to
which he has called you, the riches of
his glorious
inheritance in the saints
2 Corinthians
8:1-7 NIV
2 Out of the most severe trial, their
overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity . 3 For
I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their
ability. Entirely on their own, 4 they urgently pleaded with us for the
privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. 5 And they did not do as we expected, but
they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's
will. 6 So we urged Titus, since he had earlier made a beginning, to bring also
to completion this act of grace on your part. 7 But just as you excel in
everything — in faith, in speech, in knowledge, in complete earnestness and in
your love for us-see that you also excel in this grace of giving.
