Jesus’ Words in Red

Sons of Light

“Put your trust in the light while you have it,

so that you may become sons of light."

Have you ever noticed the moon how it shines in the darkness of night?

The moon has no light of its own

The moon only reflects the light of the sun

Jesus brought light to the world while He walked on the earth, it was day

After His return to the Father we are like the moon

Reflecting His light in the midst of night

Have you ever noticed the moon

The moon only reflects the light of the sun.

Jesus brought light to the world

while He walked on the earth, it was day.

After His return to the Father, we are like the

moon reflecting His light in the midst of night.

 

The crowd was confused because the

 law says the Christ will remain forever.

But Jesus says…

 'The Son of Man must be lifted up'?

Jesus tells them…

"You are going to have the Light just a little while longer.

Jesus gives them instructions because the night is coming…

Walk while you have the light, before darkness overtakes you.

The man who walks in the dark does not know where he is going.

Walk before the darkness overtakes you.

Jesus is saying…

 Act while you have the Light, don’t put off till later.

“Put your trust in the Light while you have it,

so that you may become Sons of Light."

The reason we are to put our trust in the

Light is in order for us to “become Sons of Light."

Jesus is trying to get the message

across that He will not always be there.

So it becomes important that we get the Light in us.

I think it is very interesting that the scriptures say…

 

“When He had finished speaking,

Jesus left and hid Himself from them.”

Those of us who have never seen Jesus in the flesh…

Still have times when it seems He is hiding from us.

Times when we seem to be in the dark.

You and I are to walk this walk of faith and

there are times when it is too dark to walk.

We can’t see where to go.

 

This is why Jesus tries to get the message

across that we must become Sons of Light.

We are living in a time where we need

oil in our lamps to keep us burning.

Not only for yourself but for others.

If we are to be sons of the

Light we must be like Jesus.

Jesus was the Light of the world because He

spoke and demonstrated the truth we are to trust in.

If we understand this, we will not be in

the dark when is seems Jesus is hiding.

Remember you do not want to be looking

for scriptures when the crisis comes.

You want to have been

storing them up in your heart…

So the Holy Spirit can bring

them back to your remembrance.

Sometimes it seems Jesus is hiding because

we have not been walking with Him daily.

If you and I learn to walk in the Light daily…

When darkness comes the Light in us will not go out.

    

Because we will have become the “Sons of Light”.

“But you, brothers, are not in darkness so that this day should surprise you like a thief. You are all sons of the light and sons of the day. We do not belong to the night or to the darkness. So then, let us not be like others, who are asleep, but let us be alert and self-controlled.”

1 Thessalonians 5:4-6 NIV

34 The crowd spoke up, "We have heard from the Law that the Christ will remain forever, so how can you say, 'The Son of Man must be lifted up'? Who is this 'Son of Man'?"
