Jesus’ Words in Red Do You Believe This?

Jesus’ Words in Red

Do You Believe This?

"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies; 26 and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
Do you believe this?"

In 2015, a survey by the National Funeral Directors Association found 17% of people
under the age of 65 make prearrangements. As people grow older,
they are more likely to make plans. After age 75, the percentage climbs to 34%
The survey reveals most of us do not prepare for the certainty of death.

Jesus makes the claim
"I am the resurrection and the life.”

He asked a very important question
He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives
and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"

No clearer evidence is there in history, so the question is
“Do you believe this?"

Do You Believe This?

Death…

They say there are two things in life
you cannot escape, death and taxes.

The mortality rate for humans, men and
women of all races, is running at 100%.

There are only two positions you can take on death…

One, there is nothing after death and

Two, there is some form of life for us after we die.

Some of us will say we can’t really know.

Others will say if there is life after death I
will be ok because God is a loving God.

Death is certain but the opinions
of life after death is uncertain.

It only makes since that if death is certain…

Shouldn’t we make certain we are ready for it?

In 2015 a survey by the National Funeral Directors Association found 17% of people u
nder the age of 65 make prearrangements. As people grow older.
They are more likely to make plans. After age 75, the percentage climbs to 34%
The survey reveals most of us do not prepare for the certainty of death.

If there is life after death, if your life
and my life will never end what
prearrangements should we make?

I suggest you check out the claims of Jesus.

In John 11, is a story of a man named Lazarus.

Lazarus had two sisters and a lot of friends.

One of Lazarus’ friends was Jesus.

Lazarus had died and was buried according
to the custom of the day, wrapped in
graves clothes and placed in a tomb.

On the fourth day many mourners were
with Lazarus’ two sisters, Mary and Martha.

Jesus, who loved Lazarus, came on that fourth day.

Although we read Jesus came for the
express purpose of revealing the glory
of God, Jesus revealed His human side.

In the shortest verse in the Bible, we
see the compassionate heart of Christ.

In verse 35 it says…

 “Jesus wept.”

We can look at the end of the story and
see the glory, but to get to the end a
lot of pain and suffering took place.

Jesus did not take the pain and suffering lightly.

It troubled Jesus to see what Lazarus went through
to die and the grief Mary, Martha and the mourners
went through for at least the last four days.

The faith of Mary and Martha is incredible.

They believed Jesus was the Christ and that if He
had been there their brother would not have died.

As Mary was having a conversation with Jesus
about life after death, Jesus made the claim that if
true we can know the key answers to life after death.

John 11:25
"I am the resurrection and the life.”

Jesus, with Mary, Martha and all
the mourners, with a loud voice said…

"Lazarus, come out!"
John 11:43 NIV

Four days after his death
Lazarus came back to life.

Jesus after being crucified for our sins,
rose on the third day from the dead.

Jesus for 30 days after His resurrection
was seen by over 500 witnesses.

It is this evidence that not only gives us hope of
life after death, but the source of the resurrection.

After Jesus makes the claim…

"I am the resurrection and the life.”

Asked a very important question…

He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;
and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.
 Do you believe this?"

No clearer evidence is there in history.

 So the question is…

“Do you believe this?"

The mortality rate is at 100%
yet few make prearrangements.

To make prearrangements for eternal life
we must put our faith in Jesus Christ.

We must…

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord,"
and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead,
you will be saved.”
Romans 10:9 NIV

Scripture Reading

John 11:25-26 NIV

"I am the resurrection and the life.
He who believes in me will live,
even though he dies;
26 and whoever lives and
