Jesus’ Words in Red Discernment verse Condemnation

Jesus’ Words in Red

Discernment verse Condemnation

"For judgment I have come into this world,
so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."

Jesus loves you and others so much He wants to heal us
of blindness so we can know the truth and be truly free

It is becoming easier to see the difference between

The world that lives in spiritual blindness and the world that lives in the light

If Jesus has healed your eyes from blindness remember this

There are many who are blind who wish they could see a better life

The life Jesus came to reveal as the Light of the World

Discernment verse Condemnation

It seems that Jesus is contradicting Himself in John 9:39

"For judgment I have come into this world”

This statement seems to contradict His words in John 3:17

“God did not send his Son into the world to judge the world,
but in order that the world might be saved through him.”

And in John 12:47, He says…

“I did not come to judge the world but to save the world.”

The word ‘judgment’ can be used in different ways.

Here in John 9 the word “krima” is used meaning
“a decision (the function or the effect, for or against ["crime"])”

“Krima” comes from the word “krino”.

Krino is the word used in John 3:17 and 12:47.

Krino means…
“properly, to distinguish, i.e. decide (mentally or
judicially); by implication, to try, condemn, punish

Jesus’ mission was to save the
world not to condemn it, “krima”.

This does not mean Jesus does not
“decide” between right and wrong.

When He says…
“For judgment I came into the world.”

He means that inevitably, as I save people
by truth and love and righteousness,
a division happens and rebellion is revealed
and people are confirmed in their unbelief.

Judgment in the since of condemning and
punishment will come but God is patient,
giving us a chance to turn to Him.

2 Peter 3:9 NIV…

The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise,
as some understand slowness.
He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish,
but everyone to come to repentance.

Our hope should be the same.

Jesus knew right from wrong;
He did not give up discernment.

Jesus came with patience with the purpose that
we would see our wrong and turn to what is right.

We, too, should not be quick to
condemn those who wrong us.

We should, like Jesus, help the blind see and
give them the opportunity to make things right.

Sometimes the wrong cannot be made right
but forgiveness can allow the person who
has sinned to move forward in a repentant life.

As Jesus said after He had healed the lame man…

"See, you are well again. Stop sinning or
something worse may happen to you."
John 5:14 NIV

In my lifetime I have seen the effects of
generations move away from faith in God.

There are more and more children who
have never heard about the love of Jesus.

More and more children who do not
have parents to model right and wrong.

Even our schools leave our children in
a state of confusion about morality as
God is band from the classroom.

So it is no wonder more and more
people are blind to right and wrong.

More and more we see people with
no leadership than themselves.

Like the time when Israel had no king
and “everyone did as they saw fit”.
Judges 17:6

When we do what we “SEE” fit, we are blind.

Blind to the beautiful things that
come from a life of righteousness.

A life that sees God and sees others like our self.

Jesus came into the world to be the Light.

To some it opens the eyes to see
the way we were created to life.

To others a choice is made to
remain blind to the things of God.

To those who claim to see, those
who claim to see a better way…

Who view life as they see fit

Their “guilt remains”.

Jesus said…

"If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin.”

This does not leave us with excess.

But it does remind us that many who
have never heard the truth can’t
see what is wrong in their life.

Whether you know or not something is wrong,
wrong will always hurt you and others.

Jesus loves you and others so much He
wants to heal us of blindness so we can
know the truth and be truly free.

It is becoming easier to see the difference.

The world that lives in spiritual blindness
and the world that lives in the light.

If Jesus has healed your eyes
from blindness remember this…

There are many who are blind who
wish they could see a better life.

The life Jesus came to reveal as the Light of the World.

Scripture Reading

John 9:39-41 NIV
39 Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, so that the blind will see and those who see will become blind."

40 Some Pharisees who were with him heard him say this and asked, "What? Are we blind too?"

41 Jesus said, "If you were blind, you would not be guilty of sin; but now that you claim you can see, your guilt remains.
