Who’s Praying For You?

Who’s Praying For You?

How many lives have you touched
that in return will be praying for you?

The other morning as I was kneeling to pray I heard,
the sound of an ambulance rushing past our house.

Because we live on a main road this happens almost every day.

Life Flight also goes over our house sometimes twice a day.

The sound of this ambulance caught
my attention like never before.

I thought another person is in trouble, another person
is suffering, another person’s life is in danger.

I questioned is there anyone who cares?

Is there anyone who is praying for that
person being rushed to the hospital?

How many ambulances, how many life flights
rush people to the hospital every day and there is
no one to pray for them in their time of trouble.

Immediately after these thoughts, I remembered a
phone call from a friend who used to work for me.

He called the night before and said he was in the hospital
and in the morning he would have triple bypass surgery.

I asked if he was afraid and he said yes.

I prayed for him on the phone and told
him Sandy and I would pray for him.

While still on my knees I prayed for him this
morning and texted him with this message…

“I am praying for you.”

“Be still and know that I am God” Psalms 46:10”

I feel sorry for those who do not surround
themselves with people of faith in God.

People who will pray and speak words of
comfort when they are in a time of need.

The point today isn’t to pray for
every ambulance that passes by.

The point is this…

Give your life to other believers in Jesus Christ.

Be there for them and in your time of need
there will be those who will be there for you.

Who knows maybe their prayers
will even keep you from trouble.

Scripture Reading

Luke 22:31-32 NIV
31 "Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift you  as wheat. 32 But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith may not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers."

2 Corinthians 9:12-15 THE MESSAGE
12 Carrying out this social relief work involves far more than helping meet the bare needs of poor Christians. It also produces abundant and bountiful thanksgivings to God. 13 This relief offering is a prod to live at your very best, showing your gratitude to God by being openly obedient to the plain meaning of the Message of Christ. You show your gratitude through your generous offerings to your needy brothers and sisters, and really toward everyone. 14 Meanwhile, moved by the extravagance of God in your lives, they'll respond by praying for you in passionate intercession for whatever you need.

Philippians 1:3-5 THE MESSAGE
Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. 4 Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart. 5 I am so pleased that you have continued on in this with us, believing and proclaiming God's Message, from the day you heard it right up to the present.
