The Family Cycles
This seven passenger conferencing tricycle teaches team work
In the cycles of family how is your family working together?
You have heard that a family that
prays together stays together.
Apparently a company in Germany believes that
a family that cycles together stays together.
Eric Staller has developed a Seven Passenger Tricycle
where the passengers face each other in a circle and
each one contributes to getting from point “A” to Point “B”.
Companies like Google and Cirque du Soleil
believe the crazy price tag of $20,000 is worth it
to build team dynamic with their company family.
Although the seven
passengers tricycle has some
great potential for conferencing and team building
there is another type of family cycle.
There are six cycles for a family to navigate.
“Cycles of Family Life”
·
The marriage
·
Bearing children
·
Raising children
·
The empty nest/launching new family
·
The declining years
·
Death in the marriage
Family cycles should be a great
experience for the whole family.
There will be the downhill ride where life seems
to be effortless as the breeze refreshes everyone.
There are also the uphill struggles where
the energy
of everyone is tested.
Like the seven passenger tricycle,
one person is responsible for steering.
Another responsible for breaking.
But all are responsible for peddling.
The six cycles of a family are seasons.
In each season the number of seats change
but there are always three things needed…
Steering, breaking, and peddling.
These three things involve daily decisions and energy.
No matter what seat you sit on or
what cycle of family you are in…
You have responsibility to the family.
Which family cycle are you in?
How is the cycle going?
What is our heavenly Father saying to
you in the family cycle you are in?
What goals do you have in this family cycle season?

Scripture Reading
1 Timothy 5:7-8 NIV
7 Give the people these instructions, too, so that no one
may be open to blame. 8 If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and
especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than
an unbeliever.
