Family Cycles
Blessing of Children
To a young married couple in love having
a baby is an incredible experience.
Although it has been over 40 years since Sandy became
pregnant with our first born I still remember the wonder.
With each child the mystery was there.
The changes physically and emotionally.
I remember Sandy feeling the baby for the first
time and wanting to share that joy with me.
As Sandy put my hand on her belly the silence
and wait until finely the kick of the baby.
Every day of the 9 months was making changes not only
in the sperm and the egg but in our thoughts and hearts.
.
Little did we know
that as we saw our world
changing, this change would change the world forever.
Babies give so much to parents as they attach and bond to us.
But we must be careful to realize this child will change the
world.
First by the life they live they will contribute
positive or negatively to the world.
There is a strong possibility they will also
have children and a cycle of generations.
Psalms 139:14 says…
“I praise you because
I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are
wonderful”
Psalms 127, the family is like a house…
“Unless the Lord
builds the house, its builders labor in vain.”
The privilege and responsibility of having children was
never meant to be solely on the parents’ shoulders alone.
When God makes one out of two,
He plans to continue to help the parents.
God has a plan for every child.
Plans for a bright future, with prosperity and security.
Jeremiah 29:11
I can’t image a parent who does not want that for their
child.
So the full potential of a child is reached
as the father, mother and God work together.
The truth of the matter is God will take up the lack
of a parent or parents in order to develop the child.
Sandy and I both come from divorced homes, yet the power of
God the Father has caused our lack to work out for our good.
Yes, it is vain to rise up early and to work late in order
to make up for the part God is to play in raising a child.
I remember my brother Dan saying Mom would ask him
if he had a good time when he went out and he would say,
“No! Because I knew my mother was praying for me.”
Call out in prayer for the influence of God in your child’s
life.
Pray for enlightenment to know and understand what God has
formed
in the womb and the bright future He has planned for your
child.

Scripture Reading
NIV
Psalm 127:1-128:1
127 Unless the Lord builds the house,
its builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city,
the watchmen stand guard in vain.
2 In vain you rise early
and stay up late,
toiling for food to eat —
for he grants sleep to those he loves.
3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord,
children a reward from him.
4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior
are sons born in one's youth.
5 Blessed is the man
whose quiver is full of them.
They will not be put to shame
when they contend with their enemies in the gate.
Psalm 139:13-16
13 For you created my inmost being;
you knit me together in my mother's womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
your works are wonderful,
I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
when I was made in the secret place.
When I was woven together in the depths of the earth,
16 your eyes saw my unformed body.
All the days ordained for me
were written in your book
before one of them came to be.
