Where Does “Family Life Start”

“In The Beginning GOD”

That’s who is first!

I am sure you heard the question which

came first the chicken or the egg.

I don’t know what the fuss is

all about, the answer is simple.

It started with “God”.

We make life so confusing when

we don’t go back to the beginning.

I have built a house and

I have remodeled houses.

Building a house is always easier than remolding.

I am working on a house for my son and the

things that have been done to this house and

the abuse over the years have made it unlivable.

We have to remove a lot of stuff to

get back to the original structure.

As I think of this house’s history,

I see where people thought they would fix

the house up but in the end they made a mess.

Someone tried their hand at wall texture.

 It was so bad I had to remove the wall boards.

We do the same thing with family.

We remodel, change, neglect, and we abuse.

Going back to the beginning is the only way to get it right.

The simple answer is still the best answer.

When we peel back all the layers of

remodeling and abuse of family…

The answer is… in the beginning God.

God laid out the blue print and designed

family in the Garden of Eden.

If you have not started your family yet,

than you have a great opportunity.

You can start your family with God.

You can avoid many of the problems

we see in families today.

Psalm 127:1 describes the family as a house.

“Unless the Lord builds the house,

its builders labor in vain.” NIV

If you have started your family

and are not happy with the results…

Don’t give up on the family.

There is a part of me that does not

want to remodel Marty & Crystal's house.

I would rather sell it and start all over.

What God has joined together let no man separate.

God not only builds new, He restores.

Yes, it will be hard work to jack the house

up and repair the foundation.

To remove the mistakes of others

and repair the neglect and abuse.

It will be worth it “IF WE GO BACK TO THE BEGINNING”.

Watch out for what you save or protect.

  

Be sure you involve the whole family.

The work will go best when you are a team

assaulting the issues and not each other.

The family team needs to have one thing in common…

A willingness to go back to the beginning.

Go back to God.

toiling for food to eat —

for he grants sleep to those he loves.

3 Sons are a heritage from the Lord,

children a reward from him.

4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior

are sons born in one's youth.

5 Blessed is the man

whose quiver is full of them.

They will not be put to shame

when they contend with their enemies in the gate.

A song of ascents.

      

There are 6 cycles for a family to navigate.

 

“Cycles of family life”

The marriage

Bearing children

Raising children

The empty nest / launching new family

The declining years

Death in the marriage

Family cycles should be a great

experience for the whole family.
