6 Cycles of Family
Newborns Crave Milk
Getting a good start for a bright future
Every mother can tell babies “crave” milk.
They don’t know how to say milk
but they sure know how to ask for it.
It is important that the craving is satisfied
not because we just want a quiet baby…
We want a healthy developing baby.
It is important that the baby’s cravings
are satisfied with healthy nourishment.
The baby’s future depends on proper nutrition.
There are three areas babies need nourishment –
·
The body, healthy foods and exercise
·
The spirit, emotional stability
·
The soul, sound mind
Every word, every action, every substance
becomes part of the baby and its future.
When Peter speaks of
“newborn babies crave
pure spiritual milk”
Peter has the future in mind.
Peter is talking about growing up
into priesthood, a spiritual house.
Peter is reminding us we must have
a vision or dream from the beginning.
Babies grow up.
Some grow up with a lack of control on their cravings.
he wise parents raise their baby with the end in mind.
I am not saying you have 6 kids and they
are all to be doctors like their dad or mom.
The wise parents will see their
child as a strong godly leader.
Like the father in Proverbs, wise parents
will teach their children to go after
Wisdom, Knowledge, Understanding, Discernment.
They will teach them self-disciplines and self-motivation.
Peter tells us where to get these resources.
All the instruction a parent needs
is found in the Word of God.
Babies need their craving filled every day.
  You
can’t live on a pacifier.
Babies grow up too fast.
 We all need to
establish times of the day when
you will get healthy nourishment.
Living long can be a real pain
if you are not living healthy.
God has a healthy, prosperous future in mind for you.
So be careful of how you satisfy your cravings today.
There are 6 cycles for a family to navigate
“Cycles of family life”
The marriage
Bearing children
Raising children
The empty nest / launching new family
The declining years
Death in the marriage
Family cycles should be a great experience for the whole
family
Scripture Reading
1 Peter 2:2-5 NIV
2 Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk,
so that by it you may grow up in your salvation,
3 now that you have tasted that the Lord is good.
4 As you come to him, the living Stone —
rejected by men but chosen by God and precious to him—
5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a
spiritual house to be a holy priesthood,
1 Peter 2:9-10 NIV
9 But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood,
a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may
declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness
into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people,
but now you are the people of God; once you had not received
mercy, but now you have received mercy.
