Where God Commands His Blessing

The Blessing

By William M. Self, Sr.

God wants to pour His blessing upon you and overwhelm you

Deuteronomy 28

But you have to be in the right place

There is a place where God commands His blessing

Psalm133

Are you in that place?

How would you complete this phrase?

“Behold, how good and how pleasant…..”

We could make quite a list of the places, foods, times
in our lives that were and are “good and pleasant”.

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to live every
day in the “Good and Pleasant”?

Our God finished this phrase telling us
what He considers “Good and Pleasant”.

He says…  “Behold”

God want us to look at
what is “Good and Pleasant” .

Does He have your attention?

Are you ready to hear what God says is Good and Pleasant?

“BEHOLD, HOW good and how pleasant it
is for brethren to dwell together in unity!”

Wow!!!... “Dwelling together in unity together.”

All the diversity God created…

The uniqueness of every one of us.

God sees the beauty of the parts
when it all comes together.

Unity is the cry of God.

Jesus’ prayer at the end of His earthly ministry was…

Father, I pray that they be one as We are one.

The good and pleasant unity focuses on
what Jesus and the Father united around.

Bring “brethren” (His family) together under
His Kingdom of righteousness, peace, and joy.

We get a picture of God’s anointing on the unified believers.

It is like the priestly anointing oil that was poured on
Aaron’s head and completely covered him to his very feet.

Not one of the unified brethren, no matter
their position, is without the anointing.

It is this place of unity…

“The Lord has commanded the blessing, even life
forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].”

God commands His blessing where the brethren are unified.

How connected are you?

Strong words of warning are given
to us as we approach the Lord’s table.

Each time we take the bread and the cup…

We are to examine ourselves to make sure
we are properly discerning the body of Christ.

Not only what He did in His body
for us, but what His body is now.

As we examine ourselves, are our
thoughts and actions connected and united?

God commands His blessing and
anointing where we are in unity.

Don’t sit outside the blessing…

Get involved!!!

Scripture Reading

Psalm 133 AMP
1 BEHOLD, HOW good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!

2 It is like the precious ointment poured on the head, that ran down on the beard, even the beard of Aaron [the first high priest], that came down upon the collar and skirts of his garments [consecrating the whole body]. [Ex 30:25,30.]

3 It is like the dew of [lofty] Mount Hermon and the dew that comes on the hills of Zion; for there the Lord has commanded the blessing, even life forevermore [upon the high and the lowly].

1 Corinthians 11:27-30 NIV
Therefore, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. 28 A man ought to examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup. 29 For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body of the Lord eats and drinks judgment on himself.
