The Blessing
By William M. Self, Sr.
Psalm 89:15 Msg
Blessed are the people
who know the passwords of praise,
who shout on parade in
the bright presence of God.
Learn the password to God’s presence
Righteousness and justice, love and faithfulness
Password to Blessing
We live in a world of passwords.
It maybe your computer or your data, but if you
don’t have the exact password you are not getting in.
You have to know the password.
To get access to God’s throne,
you have to have the right password.
Psalms 89 tells us what that password is…
“Blessed are the
people who know
the passwords of
praise” Message Bible
The NIV says it this way…
“Blessed are those who
have learned to acclaim you
who walk in the light
of your presence, O Lord.”
“Acclaim”… This
word means an
acclamation of joy or
battle cry
The Psalmist says this is something we learn
as we walk in the light of God’s presence.
The Psalmist is very clear to what
the presence of God
is like…
“Righteousness and
justice are
the foundation of your
throne;
love and faithfulness
go before you.”
Righteousness and justice, love and
faithfulness
Rejoicing and crying out for these
four things is the password.
The Password is to be used all day long.
When we speak or act in a way different than these
four things, we get an “access
denied, please try again”.
Or, if you have forgotten your password, you are directed
to give your account info and the password is sent to you.
We have an account in heaven through the Blood of Christ.
But we do not have access without the proper password.
If we confess our sin,
He is faithful to forgive us our sin…
And remind us of the password.
No matter how much God loves you He will not
allow to corrupt or bring in a virus into His presence.
Get excited about His password.
Shout out the password with joy and as a battle cry.
The password is…
Righteousness and justice, love and faithfulness.
We don’t want to change it.
Scripture Reading
Psalm
89:14-18 NIV
14
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne;
love and
faithfulness go before you.
15 Blessed are those who have learned to
acclaim you,
who walk in
the light of your presence, O Lord.
16 They
rejoice in your name all day long;
they exult
in your righteousness.
17 For you
are their glory and strength,
and by your
favor you exalt our horn.
18 Indeed,
our shield belongs to the Lord,
our king to
the Holy One of Israel.
