Turning the Curse into a Blessing

The Blessing

By William M. Self, Sr.

God is able to “turn” your curse into blessing

Turning the Curse into a Blessing

Last night my son told me the property we
wanted to buy 2 months ago is now up for auction.

I have been in prayer asking God how
I could come up with the money.

The auction is coming to an end and the current bid
is the amount that I loaned someone many years ago
and they never paid me back and never will.

I have been paying interest on that money
every month, so the thorn never leaves my side.

I guess you might call it my curse.

So today as I read Nehemiah 13:2…

“But our God turned the curse into a blessing”

I pray God how can you turn
my curse into a blessing?

This incident in my life has touched every
human emotion and caused me to make choices.

I do believe God has used this
to make be better, not bitter.

I believe God is able to turn
the curse into a blessing.

Look at Christ…

“Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming
a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone
who is hung on a tree."  He redeemed us in order
that the blessing given to Abraham might come to
the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we
might receive the promise of the Spirit.”  Galatians 3:13-14 NIV

Look at Joseph…

“Am I in the place of God? 20 You intended to harm me,
but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now
being done, the saving of many lives.” Genesis 50:19-21 NIV

And don’t forget…

“And we know that all things work together for
good to those who love God” Romans 8:28 NKJV

It seems easier for us to see the curse.

So today I am praying…

God open my eyes so that
I can see the rich blessings.

The many blessings in my life.

Help me to see how you have turned
this curse into a blessing for me.

Amen!

Scripture Reading

Nehemiah 13:1-2 THE MESSAGE
Also on that same day there was a reading from
the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people.
It was found written there that no Ammonite or
Moabite was permitted to enter the congregation of God,
2 because they hadn't welcomed the People of
Israel with food and drink; they even hired
Balaam to work against them by cursing them,
but our God turned the curse into a blessing.
