The Secret Place
By William M. Self, Sr.
When The Most High takes you under wing
He teaches you Truth and Faithfulness
So you can fly
Under Wing
Have you ever stopped to think how valuable
it is for people to take someone under wing?
it is for people to take someone under wing?
I am convinced that life cannot
exist without this
kind of help.
For the weak and inexperienced this is huge.
Children are weak and inexperienced and when
a teacher or adult takes them under wing it can
make a big difference in their success later in life.
You can probably think of several
people who took you under wing.
You stayed under wing
for short times
with some and longer times with others.
But there were those who took
interest and believed
in you.
As we grow up and learn to handle life on our own,
it still becomes a
blessing when someone takes us
under wing and helps us through troubled
waters.
These are the feathers of the wing…
Assure, care for,
conserve, cover, cushion, defend,
isolate, keep, look
after, preserve, safeguard, save,
secure, shelter,
shield, support, bulwark, champion,
chaperon, fend,
foster, harbor, hedge, screen, shade,
stonewall, watch,
cover all bases, cover up, give
refuge, give
sanctuary, go to bat for, keep safe, ride
shot gun for,
sentinel, shotgun, stand guard, watch over.
These feathers may be light and gentle,
but they are very strong and impacting.
God, the Most High, the Almighty
covers those who
trust in Him.
The Amplified says… He
covers us with His Pinions.
Pinions are the
outer part of a bird’s
wing, including the flight feathers.
A reminder that the covering we receive is
to enable us to fly higher and stronger.
It is under His wings
we learn
about Truth and Faithfulness.
These two elements are key to flying on our own.
God’s Word tells us… The
truth will set us free.
It is the
righteousness of God that
reaches above the heavens. Psalm 108:4,5
Remember that when you are taken
under wing it is
to enable you to fly.
Scripture Reading
Psalm 91:1-4
AMP
1 HE WHO
dwells in the secret place of the Most High
shall remain
stable and fixed under the shadow of
the Almighty
[Whose power no foe can withstand].
2 I will say
of the Lord, He is my Refuge and my Fortress,
my God; on Him I lean and rely, and in Him I
[confidently] trust!
3 For [then]
He will deliver you from the snare
of the
fowler and from the deadly pestilence.
4 [Then] He will cover you with His pinions,
and under His wings shall you trust
and find refuge;
His truth and His faithfulness are a
shield and a buckler.
