“The Lord Loves the Righteous”

What on Earth Is God Doing?

By William M. Self, Sr.

The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous 1 Peter 3:12

Because He loves them

Are His eyes on everything you do?

“The Lord Loves the Righteous”

John Wimber was the Founding Leader of the Vineyard Movement.

One year before His conversion to evangelical Christianity,
John brought together Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley
to joined John’s band, The Paramours (secret love).

In 1962, Bobby and Bill were preforming in
Los Angeles with the 5 member band.

At the end of one particular performance, a U.S. Marine in
the audience shouted, “That was righteous, brothers!”

That prompted the pair to adopt the name
when they embarked on a career as a duo.

Righteous, the dictionary says… Morally right or justified; to be good,
upright, virtuous, upstanding, decent; to be righteous is to do right

John says… “If you know that He is righteous,
you know that everyone who does what is
right has been born of him.” 1 John 2:29 NIV

John also says“Let no man deceive you: he that doeth
righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.” 1 John 3:7

The writer of Romans says… “For in the gospel a righteousness from
God is revealed, a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,
just as it is written: "The righteous will live by faith."” Romans 1:17 NIV

Doing the right thing may have negative consequences.

That is why Peter says“But even if you should suffer
for what is right, you are blessed.” 1 Peter 3:14 NIV

It is not always popular to do what God instructs us to do,
it takes faith to make our decisions in life on God’s Word.

Every time we make a right decision, we get a perfect score.

To be righteous is to be perfect.

God loves to see us seek Him in order
to make right decisions in life.

That is why God says…

“For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous and his ears are attentive to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil." 1 Peter 3:12 NIV

The scriptures also say…“The prayers of a righteous man is powerful.” James 5:16

Psalms 136 tells us… The Lord loves the righteous.”

When we do the right thing, God is standing in
the crowd shouting out, “That’s righteous brother/sister”.

The righteous receive special attention from God.

Chances are when a righteous person makes
a mistake he will recognize it and want to
make it right and the Lord will be there to help.

No matter what you do in life believe that
doing the right thing will result in the best
life because “the Lord loves the righteous”.

The Lord is your biggest fan listening to your every word.

The Lord is the secret love of the righteous, brothers and sisters.

Scripture Reading

Psalm 146:5-8 NIV

5 Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 the Maker of heaven and earth,
the sea, and everything in them —
the Lord, who remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free,
8 the Lord gives sight to the blind,
the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
the Lord loves the righteous.
