What on Earth is God
Doing?
By William M. Self, Sr.
God supplies enough
food every day to feed the world
But we waste it and
withhold it
God said, “When I was hungry you gave me something to
eat”
God identifies with
every hungry person
On the third day of creation,
God took care of the hunger issues.
He created seed bearing plants that were
pleasant to look at and good for food.
God set in motion the multiplication of food.
Think of how many seeds a fruit tree
or a single stalk of corn produces.
After God put man in charge,
of all He created, He said He gave
man every seed and fruit bearing tree.
God never intended for man to go hungry.
Man was responsible to take care of the plant
and animal kingdoms on the earthly level.
God from a heavenly level
provides water and sun.
Together man and God are able to produce
enough food for the world’s needs.
I was told many years ago when gold was
around $35 an ounce
that there was not enough
gold in the world to
feed all the birds for one day.
Yet, our heavenly Father feeds them every day.
There is not a hungry person in the world God
does not put Himself in that person’s place.
When God comes in His glory, the
first thing He is going to do is look
for those who feed the hungry.
“Truly
I tell you, in so far as you did it for one
of
the least [in the estimation of men] of these
My brethren, you did it for Me.” Matthew 25:40 AMP
The
fast God has chosen is to help us
identify
with the hungry so we will be
reminded to feed them. Isaiah 58:6-7
China wastes 19 of every 100 pounds of grain.
The United States wastes about 40 percent of
food crops according to one recent report.
Most of us as Americans overeat.
It is not that God has not provided
food for the hungry…
It is that we squander it and withhold it.
If you want to know what God
is doing, He is feeding the
hungry and we should join Him.
If a person goes hungry, it is not God’s fault.
Are you helping or hurting God’s
cause to feed the hungry?
Scripture Reading
Psalm
146:5-7 NIV
5 Blessed is
he whose help is the God of Jacob,
whose hope
is in the Lord his God,
6 the Maker
of heaven and earth,
the sea, and
everything in them —
the Lord,
who remains faithful forever.
7 He upholds
the cause of the oppressed
and gives
food to the hungry.
