“The Lord Gives Sight to the Blind”

What on Earth is God Doing?

By William M. Self, Sr.

Our Personal Belief System can make you blind

But through Faith

“The Lord gives sight to the blind”

“The Lord Gives Sight to the Blind”

One of the things Jesus said He came
to do was give sight to the blind.

The Gospels recording the life of Jesus
mentions a number of cases where Jesus
did just what He said He would do.

Each time Jesus gave sight to the
blind it was in a response to faith.

Faith was the out stretched arms
to receive the gift of sight.

Sight is a gift we take for granted.

It is a gift given to the poor and
the abuser according to Proverbs.

What we see is filtered through
our Personal Believe System.

That is why we get different results
when we all see the same thing.

What we believe and what we have
faith in effects the gift of sight.

God has intended our sight to be activated by faith.

God wanted to use Moses, but Moses lacked in faith.

God asked him some questions and gave Him the answers.

One of the questions and answers was...“Who gives him
sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord?”

Although Moses was not physical blind, he could not
see himself accomplishing the task God had for him.

Moses told God to find someone else.

“Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses”

Every day God is trying to open the eyes of the blind.

I say trying not because God is not able.

The gift of sight is amazing how from the many parts of our eye signals
are sent through nerves to our brain where an image is formed.

Our Creator designed and made every part.

It takes light to see and every day God is
shining light on the things in front of us.

But it is the ears that enable us to see correctly.

Because Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.

When our brains are thinking our Personal Belief System
are influenced by God’s Word, we can than see and act.

God was trying to get Moses to see things
that are not as though they were.

Let God open your eyes to hope.

Don’t anger God like Moses, but say… “Here I am send me”

  Scripture Reading

Psalm 146:5-8 NIV

whose hope is in the Lord his God,
6 the Maker of heaven and earth,

7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed
and gives food to the hungry.
The Lord sets prisoners free,
8 the Lord gives sight to the blind

Exodus 4:11-14 NIV

"Who gave man his mouth?
Who makes him deaf or mute?
Who gives him sight or makes him blind?
Is it not I, the Lord? 12 Now go;
I will help you speak and
will teach you what to say."
13 But Moses said, "O Lord,
please send someone else to do it."
14 Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses

at least something in common:
they can both see —
