What On Earth is God Doing?
By William M. Self, Sr.
What is God doing today?
He is pouring out His Spirit
Remove your umbrella and lift up your hands
Generations… I have lived to see six generations.
Being born in a Christian home, I was brought
up in a Christ centered environment.
So I have seen Christ reign in the lives of my great
grandparents,
grandparents, parents, my life, my children’s and
grandchildren.
It is incredible to see how life has changed.
My great grandparents enjoyed a much simpler life.
Yet, it was a hard life in comparison to my
grandchildren with
all the conveniences today.
My grandchildren with all the modern advancements
live a hard life that is much more complicated.
As the cathedrals and churches with their stained glass
windows deteriorate and theater styles with no windows
take their place from the choir to the band…
God remained the same, He never changes.
God’s reign… His government, plan,
mode of operation still works the same.
Jesus wasn’t impressed with the building like
His disciples were and we are today.
God has always focused on ruling in the hearts of people.
Galatians 3:15 sums it up this way…
“Let
the peace of Christ rule in your hearts” NIV
In Acts chapter 2, we read about the Day of Pentecost.
Peter tries to explain what was happening that day.
He reminds them of God’s promise spoken through the prophet
Joel.
God would pour out His Spirit upon all people…
All nationalities,
young and old, male and female.
That means ever one born including you and I have a cloud
from Heaven ready to pour out a gulley washer on us.
Peter sums up Acts 2 with this…
"Repent and be
baptized …. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
God today is still making good on His promise…
“The promise is for
you and your children and for all who are
far off — for all whom
the Lord our God will call."
Until the last generation, God is
looking for people who will repent.
Who will open themselves up to
receiving an out pouring from heaven.
God is trying to fill you with His Holy Spirit right now.
Get rid of the umbrella.
Lift up your hands and look up with your
mouth wide open and let Him reign in you.

Your sons

your old men
will dream dreams.
18 Even on
my servants, both men and women,
I will pour
out my Spirit in those days,
and they
will prophesy.
19 I will
show wonders in the heaven above
and signs on
the earth below,
blood and
fire and billows of smoke.
20 The sun
will be turned to darkness
and the moon
to blood
before the
coming of the great
and glorious day of the Lord.

everyone who calls
