Devotional Life Past, Present and Future

Devotional Life

Past, Present and Future

Your devotional time needs to encompass three aspects of your life

God wants you to love your life

Your life has a

Past, Present and Future

Your devotional time is personal time

God wants to make you complete

God cares about every part of you

What is in your heart, on your mind and the body you live in

Every emotion, every thought, every hair on your head

No matter what color, matters to our Lord Matthew 10:30

Your past effects today and today effects your future

For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.  1 Timothy 4:8

The Scriptures are God breathed

As you devote time in God’s Word, you will experience

Him breathing life into your Past, Present, and Future

Past, Present and Future

Your devotional time needs to

encompass three aspects of your life.

God wants you to love your life.

Your life has a…

Past, Present and Future.

Your devotional time is personal time.

God wants to make you complete.

That is a challenge seeing

where we have come from.

This statement is true of all of us.

“You are ugly

Your mother was ugly

And we are all going to hell”

There is nothing funny about this statement

and it should never be spoken to anyone but…

We all have sin and fall short of the glory of God.

 Romans 3:23

The wages of sin is death.

 Romans 6:23

I believe the most beautiful and

perfect body ever was Eve.

And the most handsome and perfect

body for a man was Adam.

Sin made them ugly and they

were removed from the Garden.

Sin makes us all ugly.

As we have devotional time in God’s Word…

We will see God has a remedy for our past.

Our God can turn ashes into beauty.

 Isaiah 61:3

The Scriptures open us up

to more than history.

The past is more than a story.

The past reveals God’s redemptive love…

God’s power to redeem our acts of ugly sin.

For our shame, God offers to

us a robe of righteousness.

 Revelation 61:10

God offers to take every ugly thing

in our past and turn it into good.

 Romans 8:28

Your present state in life will find

answers in your devotional time.

God’s Word is always timely.

Although the last words were

written nearly 2000 years ago...

Understanding how to take the next step

today comes like light from God’s Word.

 Psalms 119:105; Proverbs 16:9

Our Future finds great hope

in daily devotional time.

 Proverbs 23:17

The scriptures you read today may not

be fully understood…

But in your future, those words

of wisdom will be on your shelf

at the time you need it.

 Proverbs 24:14

As we daily take devotional time in God’s Word…

We will find nuggets of wisdom

that will increase in value

in the days to come.

Listen to God’s prayer for you…

May God himself, the God of peace,

sanctify you through and through.

May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept

blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

1 Thessalonians 5:23-24

God cares about every part of you…

What is in your heart,

on your mind and

the body you live in.

Every emotion, every though,

every hair on your head, no matter

what color, matters to our Lord.

 Matthew 10:30

Your past effects today and

today effects your future.

For physical training is of some value,

but godliness has value for all things,

holding promise for both the

present life and the life to come.

1 Timothy 4:8

The Scriptures are God breathed.

As you devote time in God’s Word…

 You will experience Him breathing

life into your Past, Present, and Future.

When others see God working in your life…

 They, too, will become hungry

for the daily bread you eat.

Before you try to change the world…

 Let God change you.

Make it your daily prayer…

'Our Father in heaven,

hallowed be your name,

your kingdom come,

your will be done

on earth as it is in heaven.

Give us today our daily bread.

Matthew 6:9-11

Scripture Reading

1 Timothy 4:6-10 NIV

7 Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8 For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.

9 This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe.
