Devotional Life Make Learning Fun

Devotional Life

Make Learning Fun

So our devotional time with God is not about a history lesson

Or, about how many scriptures you can memories

It is not about formulas

God is LIFE and learning about Him and from Him

Gives us everything we have need of for life and godliness

Common sense becomes easier as we put our faith in Him

As we trust His Word for all our needs

From that faith we add

make every effort to add to your faith goodness;

and to goodness, knowledge;

and to knowledge, self-control;

and to self-control, perseverance;

and to perseverance, godliness;

and to godliness, brotherly kindness;

and to brotherly kindness, love.

if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You will enjoy learning when you see how effective

And productive it is in your life

Make Learning Fun

Growing up I hated school.

I thought I was dumb.

I did not realize learning

was something you developed.

It seemed everyone else had the

answers and it was easy for them.

I found playing outside was much

more enjoyable than looking at a book.

It was hard for my divorced, working

mom to help four kids with homework.

I never have been able to develop

the memory side of my brain…

 But common sense has helped me

figure out amazing things all my life.

In school I thought I hated

learning because I could never

remember what I learned

when it came time for the test.

As I got older, I found my learning

is maybe my greatest joy.

I have taken my approach

to life from 2 Peter 1:3…

His divine power has given us everything

 we need for life and godliness through our

knowledge of him who called us

by his own glory and goodness.

Everything I need to know about

life and godliness is found in God.

This may surprise you, but wisdom

is nothing more than common sense.

Believe it or not,

 wisdom is not hard to get.

James 1:5-8…

If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God,

who gives generously to all without finding fault,

and it will be given to him.

But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt,

because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea,

blown and tossed by the wind.

That man should not think he will receive anything

from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

Wisdom becomes hard when

we have a double standard.

The person who makes Jesus Lord puts his

 trust in God’s Word for the answers to life.

Life is not good luck, but precious promises.

We have the privilege to participate

in the divine nature of God.

When we see the divine nature of God

and how that nature fulfills every need for

life and godliness, it changes our desires…

Evil desires that entrap us

and corrupt the good of our lives.

The wisdom of God,

common sense to those who

walk in the light, is seen worked

out in 2 Peter 1:5-9…

For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.

Notice our learning is to develop “Qualities” .

As we increase in these “Qualities”…

They will keep you from being ineffective

and unproductive in your

knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

I hate doing something and getting no where…

Imaging being effective and productive.

Our knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ opens

our eyes to effective and productive lives.

So our devotional time with

God is not about a history lesson.

Or, about how many scriptures you can memories.

It is not about formulas.

God is LIFE and learning about Him

and from Him gives us everything we

have need of for life and godliness.

Common sense becomes easier

as we put our faith in Him…

As we trust His Word for all our needs.

From that faith we add…

Make every effort to add to your faith goodness;

and to goodness, knowledge;

and to knowledge, self-control;

and to self-control, perseverance;

and to perseverance, godliness;

and to godliness,

brotherly kindness;

and to brotherly kindness, love.

if you possess these qualities in increasing measure,

they will keep you from being ineffective

and unproductive in your knowledge

of our Lord Jesus Christ.

You will enjoy learning when you see how

effective and productive it is in your life.

Remember Jesus gathering those to Him…

Everything Jesus taught had to do

with having an abundant life.

The Word of God is still best understood

when we become like little children.

Don’t make it complicated…

 Make it enjoyable.

Scripture Reading

2 Peter 1:3-9 NIV

3 His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 4 Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.

5 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; 6 and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; 7 and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, love. 8 For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. 9 But if anyone does not have them, he is nearsighted and blind, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his past sins.
