Devotional Life Approval Rating with God

Devotional Life

Approval Rating with God

Our goal is to find the truth

It is the only thing that brings freedom

Truth cannot be found from a worldly point of view

Truth can only be found from examining God’s view

That starts with careful handling of God’s Word

Making sure we understand the context of the scriptures we read

The balance of other scriptures

Seeing the practical ways the scriptures are worked out in the Kingdom of Heaven

Then through prayer, applying those principles in earth

The worldly point of view has a grip on all of us

Don’t underestimate its power

To release the greater power of the Heavenly point of view we need to work at it

Light only over comes darkness when the light is turned on

2 Timothy 2:15

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.

Let’s improve our approval rating with God

Approval Rating with God

A devotional life is a life of love and loyalty.

Loyalty brings approval.

Loyalty is more than standing

in the same room with someone.

Loyalty is faithfulness.

If someone is loyal to you,

 they will side with you.

In order to side with someone,

you need to know that person.

You need to know what they stand for.

This is what Paul is saying 2 Timothy 2.

Devotional time will

improve your approval rating.

Let’s ask our self a question…

What is the LORD’s

approval rating of your life?

Surely there are things the Lord

smiles at and says well done.

And if you are like me,

there are areas of our lives the

approval rating is not so high.

My daily devotional time has helped

my approval rating with the Lord…

In the sense that I am reminded of what

pleases the Lord as I study His Word.

It is clear to see from God’s

Word that He does not approve

of the worldly point of view.

The worldly point of view fills

our lives from morning to night.

Look at where the worldly

point of view has gotten us.

Where God is not KING…

 Everyone will do what is

right in their own eyes.

 Judges 17:6

Our devotional time with

God changes our view point.

This is not automatic,

it is a process.

That is why Paul says to Timothy…

Study to show yourself-approved unto God.

Your time with God will change

your view point from a worldly

point of view to a Godly point of view.

So from now on we regard no

one from a worldly point of view.

Though we once regarded Christ

in this way, we do so no longer.

2 Corinthians 5:16

Many of us wait till the last

minute to get things done.

"'As surely as I live,' says the Lord,

'every knee will bow before me;

every tongue will confess to God.'"

So then, each of us will give

an account of himself to God.

Romans 14:11-12

Each day we look into God’s

Word, we see God’s view.

Our approval rating with God comes

as we give diligence to God’s Word.

Devotional time is more than

reading, but studying God’s Word.

So we understand how

to correctly handle truth.

Scripture Reading

2 Timothy 2:15 KJV

15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God,

a workman that needeth not to be ashamed,

rightly dividing the word of truth.
