The Outcome Outcomes Are Measurable

The Outcome
Outcomes Are Measurable

One of the joys the person who lives by faith has is seeing the outcome of faith
Not just the hope of salvation and eternal life
The person who lives by faith in God and His Word enjoys life now
Faith does not always deliver us out of trouble
But faith strengthens us to deal with trouble
Consider the outcome of your faith where would you be without it
Your faith is measureable
Although you may not be the person you ought to be
Rejoice in the outcome of your faith in God and His Word

Outcomes Are Measurable

When we watch a movie we
are watching for the “outcome”.

Outcomes are the results.

Outcomes always happen, whether
they are planned or unplanned.

The outcome is the end result.

Keeping the end in mind is a
good way to get a good outcome.

Every outcome is a measurement of a process.

Proverbs says…

A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to rest —
and poverty will come on you like a bandit and scarcity like an armed man.
Proverbs 6:10-11

You don’t have to do
anything to get an outcome.

But doing nothing does
not bring a good outcome.

The problem we face is
outcomes are inevitable.

Everything we do or don’t
do will produce an outcome.

Your future matters.

My dad used to say…

“If I knew I was going to live so long
I would have done things differently.”

It is always easier to look
back than to look forward.

As you and I look forward to the outcomes
of our lives, we do it with hope.

Hope is what motivates us to “think” about the
things we will need to do to have a good outcome.

Hope also brings discipline to our lives so we
“do” the things that will bring a good outcome.

Our hope from what we believe.

Hope produces faith.

What you hope for, what you
believe will produce an outcome.

Your faith produces an outcome.

It is understood we all believe in
something so we all have faith.

The question is will my faith save me?

So it becomes important for us as we travel
through life to ask ourselves the question…

“What is the outcome of my faith?”

Most of us who believe in Jesus might
say the outcome of my faith is eternal life.

But we should be reminded that God
says He has given us everything
we need for life and godliness.

Jesus said I came that you
might have life to the fullest.

In the ESV Bible, 1 Peter 1:9 says…

“obtaining the outcome of your faith,
the salvation of your souls.”

On the journey to eternal life what
is the outcome of your faith “now”?

I hope you can answer that question by saying…

I have not fully obtained to all things
but I am happy with the results.

My life is better because of
my faith in God and His Word.

Outcomes, results are measurable.

They tell us the story.

The people Peter was writing to
were going through hard times.

Their faith caused persecution but it also
produced the strength to overcome hardship.

James reminds us to…

…count it all joy when you fall into various trials,
knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.
But let patience have its perfect work,
that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
James 1:2-5 NKJV

If you cannot say…

“My life is better because of my
faith in God and His Word”

Consider this…

Maybe you need a better understanding
of God’s Word because God plans
for you have a good outcome.

Scripture Reading

1 Peter 1:3-9
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you,
who by God's power are being guarded through faith for a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.
In this you rejoice, though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been grieved by various trials,
so that the tested genuineness of your faith—more precious than gold that perishes though it is tested by fire—may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory,
obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
