The Birth of Christ
If Christmas was Banned
The
children story How the Grinch Stole
Christmas finds its way in real life
In
its truest definition Christmas is the celebration of the Birth of Jesus
God
sent Jesus into the world to save us from our sin
Not
an act of condemnation but love to all people
Those
who want to band Christmas do it under the name of “Diversity”
Christmas
is all about Diversity
Jesus
came because He loved the world, all people groups
The
followers of Jesus have built more hospitals and schools
Reached
out to more humanitarian needs than any other people group
Not
only at Christmas time, but every day of the year
So
if you are a follower of Christ Jesus
Celebrate
Christmas, the Birth of Christ, with pride
Be
proud of all Jesus did
Be proud of what all the Christians before you
have done
Be
proud of what you and your brothers and sisters in Christ are doing right now
All
over the world, for every people group
It
is all done in love with humility because every Christian knows
What
their life was like before Christ or would be without Him now
There
is a Christmas war, but we do not war as the Grinch
If Christmas was
Banned
In the early 2000’s the term
“War on Christmas” became popular.
The war was to change the word
Christmas for the word Holidays.
Banks and other institutions
banned Christmas trees.
Schools like the one in Virginia, in 2018,
banned the use of the name Jesus in any
songs in the children’s Christmas program.
The war on Christmas flies
under the banner of “Diversity”.
It is true there are
people groups that
do not believe that Jesus Christ is God.
These groups are not as much
ethnic as they are political.
Christmas in its purest definition is the
celebration of the Birth of Jesus Christ.
In another sense it is a holiday of myths
of Santa Clause and traditions (some atheist
accept the Birth of Jesus as a myth).
So what if Christ was
banned from Christmas?
Jesus Christ came into the
world as God to save sinners.
Jesus came for all people.
Jesus Christ gave a final
command to all His followers…
Go into the world and
preach the Good News.
The followers of Jesus have
done that and are still doing it today.
The message is more than words but
demonstration of love to every people group.
Although the message of God
and His love condemns sin…
It does not reject sinners.
Schools, hospitals, and everywhere
there is human need…
Christians, followers
of Jesus Christ, have been
there building the resources to meet those needs.
It is not just at Christmas time that
those who believe in the Birth of Jesus
feed the hungry and take up large
offerings to meet humanitarian needs.
The families of Christians take family serious.
The children who grow up believing
in the Birth of Jesus, grow into adulthood
benefiting all people in the communities they live in.
Why do all these wonderful things happen?
Because Jesus loves all
people and so do His followers.
So banned Christmas?
Remove Jesus?
Remove Christians?
But before you do look at all Jesus came to
do and Christians who follow Him do…
When you hear those
you want to banned
Christmas you will hear a voice of hate.
Hate is becoming louder and louder in our world.
This voice of it is the opposite of the voice of Christmas.
Jesus tells us to love our enemies and to
do good to those who despitefully use us.
Which voice do you want to hear?
Remember Diversity without
Christianity is not Diversity.
Jesus and His Church,
the followers of Christ, Christians…
Have shown more love and done more
positive things for the diversity of people
in the world than any other people group.
So if you are a follower of Christ Jesus…
Celebrate Christmas, the Birth of Christ, with pride.
Be proud of all Jesus did.
Be proud of what all
the Christians before you have done.
Be proud of what you
and your brothers
and sisters in Christ are doing right now...
All over the world for every people group.
It is all done in love with humility because
every Christian knows what their life was like
before Christ or would be without Him now.
There is a Christmas war but
we do not war as the world.
For though we live in
the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are
not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to
demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to
make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of
disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
2 Corinthians
10:2-6
Scripture Reading
2 Corinthians 10:1-6
NIV
10:1 By the meekness and gentleness of Christ, I appeal to
you — I, Paul, who am "timid" when face to face with you, but
"bold" when away! 2 I beg you that when I come I may not have to be
as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the
standards of this world. 3 For though we live in the world, we do not wage war
as the world does. 4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the
world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. 5 We
demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the
knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to
Christ. 6 And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your
obedience is complete.
