The Birth of Christ Jesus Born for Diversity

The Birth of Christ
Jesus Born for Diversity

Jesus was born in full disclosure of “Diversity” not a prejudice in Him
(And there is not a one of us that can say that)
Listen to the words of the angel to the shepherds
I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.
Good news of great joy for ALL THE PEOPLE.
Diversity does not mean we accept everything
Jesus was born to bring good news of great joy to every culture,
Every people group
“ALL PEOPLE”
You may not like Jesus, you may not believe in Jesus, but you cannot deny
Jesus was born for ALL PEOPLE
Jesus was born for Diversity

  Jesus Born for Diversity

The Christmas Story is read around the world
in churches and homes in the month of December.

One of the favorite parts of the story is the
shepherds who were watching their sheep.

When the Angel of the Lord appeared
to the shepherds the Angel said…

"Do not be afraid.
I bring you good news of great joy
that will be for all the people.
Luke 2:10

I think it is interesting that when God
appears, be it by angels, or in some
other fashion, the reaction is fear.

From Adam and Eve hiding in the Garden of
Eden to today, there is a response of fear of God.

Fear will produce one of two things…

 Terror or Respect

I knew a lady who was terrified of water.

I discovered her fear after she gave her heart
to Jesus and talked to her about her next step
in following Jesus in the Waters of Baptism.

This lady never knew the joy of a
swimming pool on a hot summer day.

Her fear robbed her of many
things you and I love and enjoy.

She came to a place where she trusted God to
help her make a public declaration of her faith
by being baptized according to the scriptures…

Fully being submersed under the water
showing her identifying with her Savior’s burial
and coming up out of the water
like Jesus who rose from the dead.

This lady went on to respect water and not fear it.

The angels said… “Do not be afraid”

Diversity can be fearful, God is different than us.

He is intimidating.

But listen to the words of the angel.

I bring you good news of great
joy that will be for all the people.

 Good news of great joy.

I love to tell people about a great
deal, something that I enjoyed.

I cannot imagine the joy the angel had
in bringing this great announcement.

This announcement of good news was
not just for shepherds, or some
other ethnic group like the Jews.

This message of “good news”
was “for all people”.

The news of Jesus the Son of God is a
message of “Good News” to “ALL PEOPLE”.

Whatever you call yourself, God
has “good news of great joy” for you.

Jesus was born in full disclosure of
“Diversity” not a prejudice in Him.

(And there is not a one of us that can say that.)

These shepherds checked
out the claims of the angel.

 The shepherds returned, glorifying and
praising God for all the things they had heard
and seen, which were just as they had been told.
 Luke 2:20

Diversity does not mean we accept everything.

Jesus was born to bring good news of great joy to
every culture, every people group “ALL PEOPLE”.

You may not like Jesus, you may not
believe in Jesus, but you cannot deny…

Jesus was born for ALL PEOPLE.

Jesus was born for Diversity.

 Scripture Reading

Luke 2:8-35

8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid. I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying,

14 "Glory to God in the highest,
and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests."

15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about."

16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.
